Great Mug w pleasant subtle coating
I purchased the 12oz Hydroflask mug in Indigo. This mug has the same width as the 32oz/40oz hydroflask water bottles - so it does not fit in a normal car cup holder - see first image with cup sitting on top of cupholder. My car though has a large holder, so it's able to fit, but because of the handle, if your car has an enclosed large holder without any extra insert - it will not fit.There is a subtle coating on the exterior of the mug that I was pleasantly surprised by. I didn't think anything of it, until I put the mug down. And instead of hearing like a metal ding, it was muted. The coating is like a soft matting, subtle where it does not feel like a rubbery texture or anything. And it doesn't feel like the rubber boots that the hydroflask water bottles have - this mug can still like slide across a surface without getting stuck. It just doesn't like have a metal clang like the yeti/rtic mugs I've had.Can't really speak much to the heat/cold retention since I drink my iced coffees fairly quickly. But I'm happy with it.

I wanted to get my husband and I a new cup to take with us in the morning for work. We’ve been using regular mugs and I wanted us to upgrade to something with a lid lol. Since everyone is doing pros & cons, allow me.
Pros:
1) it feels great to hold. the material on the outside makes it nonslip and very comfortable to hold.
2) it keeps drinks hot/cold for a long while. i don’t drink my morning coffee very fast so this is nice.
3) it is dishwasher safe! which makes it very convenient to wash with ease. despite what anyone says in the comments, i read the little paper that comes in the box which said it was. my husband & i are also hydroflask girlies & we wash our hydroflasks in the dishwasher all the time. 💀
4) it might not be a pro for some but you can do hot or cold in this tumbler. some tumblers you can only do hot or only do cold and i like to switch between a hot or iced coffee.
Cons:
1) it is a little hard to find lids for. i bought a lid for my mug that was a straw for iced drinks and it was the wrong size. since then, i haven’t been able to find anything similar that is not a screw top.
2) it does leak IF you tip it & keep it tipped. and it’s not a lot when that happens. it mostly comes out the mouth piece, which is expected. i haven’t had any major issues with mine and i drive with mine in a cup holder almost everyday.

All in all, i think it’s a great product and everyone can benefit from purchasing this mug. it’s a great little mug.

I was gifted one of these a few years back and realized that everyone needs one! I bought 4 in various colors (depending on the recipient) and gifted them as Christmas gifts! Something I wrote on their box was 'the best mug you'll ever own,' and then let them be the judge. I can brew my coffee at 7am and it's still very warm in my mug by 12pm lunch (effective on the larger size mug, as well). The finish is sleek and comfortable in your hand, and I tend to hand wash mine but it's also been thrown in the dishwasher on many occasions and is just as new. The lids is comfortable and easy to slide - when it's kept closed, the coffee tends to stay hot longer. I always recommend this mug if anyone asks me about it who sees me carrying it! The quality is great - I've had mine for years and looks like I just bought it. The various sizes and colors are a huge plus - and did I mention it keeps ice cold, too?? If it's very full, you'll want to be careful not to turn it upside down or on it's side for long because it can start coming out of the mouthpiece on the lid. Overall A++

I have been wanting a mug like this for years, and finally found this Hydro Flask. I needed a mug which:
1. Could hold up to 24oz, liquid & ice, on the occasions I got a Venti cold brew
2. Had a sturdy, easy to grab, handle
3. Would keep drinks hot / cold for 4-5 hours
4. Had a large mouth for easy cleaning

This HF 24oz mug has all of that, and easily met what I wanted. A cold brew bought at 9am still has ice in it at 5pm (in an AC environment). Once you pop of the lid, the 100% vertical (not-angled) sides allow you to reach in with a. sponge to easily wash it out.

The only thing to keep in mind is that this is not leak-proof, but the lid’s sliding cover for the opening to drink from does somewhat help to limit spills.

Overall, perfect!

Pros:
1)I like the color and the finish of the mug. It feels good on my hand
2) I like the fact that it holds the coffee hot all morning. It claims 12 hours..... NAHHHHHH. Maybe 4 hours. But that's much better than any single wall metal or ceramic mug. The double wall insulation helps a lot.
3) It keeps cold drinks cold for a long time. I have gotten ice cold beverages to last all night with ice in them.... It claims 24 hours.... NAHHHHH. Maybe 8-12 if you keep it covered and don't drink any of it at all. I can attest to 8 hours with ice remaining.

Cons:
1) Not dishwasher safe. It doesn't say in the little piece of paper that came with it but the Q&A has several people advising against it due to the plastic color finish. I have not tried it.
2) The 12H hot and 24H cold is a little unrealistic. But, if you are drinking off of it, it is only 24oz. Who drinks 24oz in more than 12 hours??? It is much better than anything else available.
3) The top lid pops off all by itself. When using it for hot beverages, the lid gets pushed up. I don't know if this is due to thermal expansion or what, but it is the first time this has happens to me on a double walled mug. If you push the lid down, it will slowly push itself back up. Maybe it could be a little tighter fit to create a little more friction to hold it in place. I don't know why this happens but it does and it is annoying.
