Durable Construction

Each piece of POLYWOOD furniture is constructed of genuine POLYWOOD lumber and built to withstand a range of climates including hot sun, snowy winters, freezing rain, salt spray, and strong coastal winds.

Made From Recycled Plastic

Approximately 30,000 milk jugs are recycled per hour to create POLYWOOD all-weather lumber. After your furniture is constructed, any scrap lumber pieces from manufacturing are sent back to the POLYWOOD recycling plant to be made back into lumber.

These rockers are comfortable, sturdy, and well made. I also like that the fasteners are the color of the rocker so they are not very visible. However, as others have noted, assembling these rockers is a challenge. The instructions are simple, but the side pieces do not fit easily together and are difficult to align. Instead of banging the pieces with a rubber mallet as others have recommended, I loosened the manufacturer's installed Phillip's head screws at the front and back of the rocker near the bottom. Once everything fit into place, I tightened all the fasteners including the Phillip's head screws. This worked on both of my rockers. Despite the struggles with assembly, the 5 star rating is warranted due to the comfort, sturdiness, quality and manufacturer's 20 year warranty.

Polywood products are truly extraordinary. The design is great and the 6 Polywood chairs that I have purchased, including the Nautical Adirondack, are all precision engineered. All parts were always included. Directions were simple. But most important, the chair material itself is "bullet proof" for any weather conditon, for essentially ever, and the assembly, with very heavy duty stainless screws is equally fool proof and forever permanent. The holes are drilled exactly where they should be, and the items are designed with such a high standard that you can put as much torque as you can muster into tightening, without any chance stripping the inset hole, or snapping the screw or bolt.

The chairs look great. They are supremely comfortable. And the product, made in the USA is very satisfying, given its quality, its value, and at least subliminally, that the recycling of milk carton plastic to build the chairs does indeed help the planet. I have purchased very fancy outdoor furniture, like Weatherend Estate Furniture, priced at least 10 to 15 times higher, yet get far more satisfaction from my Polywood furniture with its permanence, good looks, construction, and sourcing of the raw materials.

I ordered two and they are great. Sturdy, easy to assemble and they look fantastic. Love that they’re made in America, too. My only mistake – and it was my mistake – is that I didn’t pay attention to the dimensions. These are a little lower to the ground and smaller than I would like. I’ve sat in some other rockers, which were quite large. I looked at the picture, got excited by the price and ordered without paying attention to the size. At 6‘,4“, 320 pounds, I’m used to filling most chairs and I fill these. I need a hand getting out of them because they’re pretty low. Good news is they’re sturdy and they’ll never break. Again, great product. I love these. Just should’ve paid a little more attention to what I was ordering.

Firstly, I felt lucky to get these chairs as they have been sold out everywhere for months and they shipped fast!! They look great (see picture).

The chair material is SUPER durable and heavy (won’t blow over). The texture and color (black) was not as high end as some of the other polywood chairs I’ve seen. I suspect there are different quality lines depending upon where you purchase…not a huge deal.

I took a star off because they were a HUGE hassle to put together - instructions were fine but the pieces were poorly cut/aligned. When I say tough to get together, I mean like three grown men tugging on the pieces to get the things together. There’s not a lot of give in the material, it’s almost unbreakable. When they do lock in though they aren’t going anywhere. You won’t fall though these chairs.

As for comfort, I’m 5’7” and my husband is 5’9” these fit us very well. I was worried they’d be too low to the ground based on reviews I read but that was not the case at all. They were perfect for our height. The seat height appeared to be pretty standard (the same as our kitchen chairs, recliners, couches…etc.). My in-laws are 5’0 -5”3 and their feet could not sit fully flat on the ground. The contour is pretty flat for the seat and back so you could easily add a cushion or pillow for added comfort but not necessary.

Looks just like the picture, very sturdy and feels like it will last a long time. I have a cushion on it for added comfort, not as smooth rocking as some old fashioned rockers but definitely does the job and just as good as others I've tried lately.
Highly recommend a mallet and a helper to assemble, it will fit together but you may have to swear at it a bit. :)
