I was weighting between nano x and nano s plus. Glad I got x since there is no need to carry cables when connecting with phone app, and convenience of authentication. But, I don’t think price difference compared to the nano s plus is justified only because of Bluetooth feature. I guess one pays for convenience, and this may be game changer for people that rely on the mobile access.
Now the most important issue (I guess) – the battery defects and problems. I have ordered this product in August 2022 and did not have any problems. As well product was brand new, there were no signs of tempering or repacking etc…
Possibly they fixed the battery problems in recent batches of the product (nano x I received had very recent firmware).
I am satisfied with this purchase.

Nice offline wallet, but opening the device is mandatory for battery functionality.
The setup process of the device was very straight forward and using the device with ledger live is easy, however the physical design of the Nano X has issues. (this is the rev2 model) I needed to have the device plugged in for it to power on and function because the battery is not properly connected. The device only showed a wall plug icon in the top right of the screen, meaning that it was not charging. The rev2 model has 3 spring pins (rev1 has two bent spring pads) on the battery board that are supposed to make contact with the device motherboard, however the shell of this device is too large so that does not happen. When pushing the type-c charger into the charge port, the motherboard can slide back in the shell causing the pins to slide off the copper contact pads on the motherboard. Additionally, the top cover does not put enough pressure on the motherboard to push it down onto the battery spring pins.To remedy this problem, you need to open the device and put in some electrical tape spacers. To open the device, slightly bend open the swivel piece until it clears the buttons and can be slid off. Next, use a very small flat head screwdriver to pry off the top cover. IFIXIT 1.5mm flat head works excellent for this. There is a tab near each corner that needs to be released (4 total). I found it was easiest to start on the bottom long edge, pry that side up and work around the seam of the whole shell. On the right side of the device, I put a 1/16" thick electrical tape spacer and taped it into place. Taping this into place on the shell helps a lot with getting the motherboard back into place. Next, put the motherboard back in and place a thin strip (but thick in height) of tape on the opposite side on top of the motherboard to get more down pressure on the battery pins. Make sure the electrical tape will not interfere with the buttons when they are pressed. Press the top cover (with buttons) back onto the shell. If it still doesn't charge, try using a thicker spacer on top of the motherboard.I'm surprised this is still an issue even with the newer revision. This battery should really be soldered right to the motherboard so there aren't any issues...ALSO: MAKE SURE YOUR PRODUCT IS SHRINK WRAPPED WHEN YOU RECEIVE IT. IF IT ARRIVED WITHOUT SHRINK WRAP ON THE BOX, IT IS A POISONED LEDGER AND YOUR CRYPTO WILL LIKELY BE STOLEN IF YOU USE IT.
