柔軟な構造

GO linkはケーブル一体型のスティック型USB-DACアンプであり、DACとヘッドフォンアンプ回路が搭載された本体とUSB-Cプラグのどちらも堅牢かつ軽量なマグネシウム合金製の筐体に収められています。

ツイストしよう

iFiはケーブルの品質にも手を抜きません。銀メッキ銅導体とポリマー絶縁材の線材を「ツイストペア」構成で使用しています。

このツイスト撚りは、インダクタンスとキャパシタンスを最適化し、あわせてノイズ除去に効果があります。GO linkの出力に、近くの電子機器から拾う電磁干渉の影響を受けないようにしているのです。

音楽に合わせて動く

思ったより、小さく、軽いため、持ち運びも楽。音質はやたら、音圧を上げたり、どこかの帯域を押し上げるとか、ではなく、丁寧な音作りでバランスよく仕上がってます。ジャックは3.5ミリのみですが、4極バランス対応してるようです。価格からしたら、持っていて損はない。スマホのバッテリーも以前持っていたfiio社の製品よりも全然喰いません。

ANKERのUSB-C↔3.5mm変換アダプタを使っていました。デザイン、作り、コスパは非常に良かったですが、どうも音質が・・・という感じでした。Ipadへの直挿しより音質がずっと落ちる感じだったので、1万円前後のDACを探すことになりました。
条件は下記の通りでした。

・1万円前後
・USB-C↔3.5mm
・それなりに有名な会社のもの
・2020年以降の商品
・バッテリーをあまり食わない低電力仕様であること

そこで見つけたのが、ifiのこのDACでした。
ifiさんはオーディオの世界ではそれなりに有名な会社で、自分は使ったことがないですが、信頼できるという印象はありました。
新商品であることもあり、海外に比べると少々高い感じの12000円でしたが、上記の条件を充たしているので買いました。
最後まで悩んだのはhidizs s9proでしたが、こちらは数カ月後の不良発生の報告が数件あり、スペックが高い分、Go linkよりバッテリーを食う可能性が高いと判断しました。

それでは、このGo linkについて感じたのを長所から書いてみたいと思います。
ちなみに主に使っていたDACは、SONYのPHA-2です。
・とにかく解像度が高く、音の広がりが感じられる
・出力が高く、HD599ぐらいは難なく鳴らしてくれる
・挿すとそのまま使えて、DACのソフトウェアではなく、端末のハードウェアボタンなどでボリュームを調節すること
・デザインがスッキリしていて、発熱もあまりないこと
・最初からUSB-C↔USB-A変換アダプタと、USB-C↔ライトニング変換アダプタが同封されていること
・思ったより小さく、重さや大きさを気にせず持ち歩くことが可能

次に短所です。
・白い線でUSBポートとDACの部分が繋がっているが、思ったより貧弱で、耐久性が少し気になること
（※ANKERの製品に比べて）
・3.5mmしかなく、バランス接続はできない
（こちらは知っていたので、自分的には問題ではありませんでしたが、多くの方には短所かと）
・内蔵バッテリーがないため、低電力仕様にはなっているものの、少しバッテリーを食うのは仕方ない

以上です。
短所として挙げられているものは、買う前から知っていたことなので、星は5つにしています。
もし事前情報がなかったら、★3になっていたかもしれませんが。

個人的にはPHA-2にはさすがに負けるだろう、と思っていましたが、まったく気圧されることなく、本領を発揮してくれました。
外で気軽に有線イヤホン・ヘッドホンを良い音質で楽しみたくて買いましたが、これなら自宅で普通に使えるぐらいの品質だと思いました。
ただ、人によっては12000円という値段が少し気になるかもしれませんが、為替とかの影響もあるので今のところは仕方ないかもしれません。
自分は納得できる値段でした。

長らく欲しかったUSB-DAC
gryphoneやGO bar、中国製などを検討していたが機能よりも価格を重視していたのでニュースを見た時点で購入を決めた。スマホにfinalのA4000を繋げ使用。ずっとジャック直挿しに音量の不満を感じていたが、買ってからは最大値の半分程度の設定でも素晴らしい解像度と音圧。YoutubeとSpotifyの音楽を聞きたいときはもうこれ無しが嫌になるほど。音の味付けはないクリーンなサウンド(イヤホンの特性は別)なので曲のジャンルを問わず使える。またノートパソコンに挿しても面倒な設定なく使えたのも嬉しい。充電の消費も大食いというほどではない。個人的には深い青のデザインもシックで好き。接続時にLEDが明るすぎることだけ気にはなっているが、星を減らすには音の満足度が高すぎる。

MacBookAIR(M1)、MacBookPRO(M2)と、iPad mini6に装着。

モバイル系のものと組み合わせるのが本道だと思ったので比較してみましたが、
iFiらしく音抜けがよくパワー感がある音が楽しめました。上位機種と比べると多少荒削りではありますが、このサイズとバスパワー駆動では限界点でしょう。
駆動力はなかなかのものです。

MacBookPROとAIRは(とくにPROは)内臓のイヤフォンジャックの音もそこまでひどいわけではありませんが、本品に替えると確実にワンランク音質アップはします。駆動力とか云々の前に、一聴して音の立体感が全然違います。
単純にA/B比較でも解りますが、本品を基準にするとMacBook本体のイヤフォンジャックの音は音の立体感と、ダイナミクスが乏しい感じが。
なんというか、、音が薄いというか。

iPad mini6では、Apple純正変換のモノと比較しましたが、こちらは比較になりませんでした。レベルが違いすぎて。
純正変換は元々不満でしたが、軽くてペラペラな音ですよね。
本品はすべてにおいて「本来こうだよね」っていう音に近づく。
値段も10倍くらい違うのでなので当たりといえば当たり前ですが、繋いだだけでちゃんと性能が出るというのは シンプルでとてもよい製品だと思います。

ちなみにMacBookでもiPad mini6でもドライバーソフトなどは不用ですぐ使用可。
MacBookの場合は、AudioMIDIの設定でフォーマットを選択してあげればなおよいです。
繋いだだけの初期状態では48k/24bit設定になっていました。
AppleMusicメインで聴くのであれば、ハイレゾロスレス上限は192kHz/24bit、ATMOSは規格上限96kHz/24bit(大抵は48kHz/24bitで製作されてます)だったはずなので、デフォルト設定は96k/24bitでよいかと。
クロックロックするとグリーンランプが点灯するので、それ基準で判断でもよいと思います。
iPad mini6はAudioMIDI的な設定はないので、Music設定でハイレゾロスレス/ATMOS ON設定にしておけば、音源によって自動セレクトになるのかなあ🤔
もしかしたら48k/24bitか96k/24bit固定なのかも?

あと、バッテリーの消費はけっこう速くなるので、とくにiPhonei・Pad系での使用で、寒い暑い環境やバッテリーが弱ってる場合は減りも早いので要注意です。

※DACあれこれ知ってる方向けに補足すると、本品はTHE「ESS DAC」的な感じの音がします。明らかにAKM的な音ではないです。
極端なことをいうと、リズム系の曲にはハマりますがメロディーを聴かせるような楽曲にはイマイチハマらない感が...ちとあります。
エッジ感強めですっきりハッキリと鳴らし分けてしまうような性格なので 聴き応えはよいですが、しっとりしなやか感が欲しくなる楽曲にはややツラい。
ただ、ここに価格の要素を加味すると、「上出来でしょ」ってなります。
1万円。「いいね」ってなる。

我が家では、本製品は予備系統として、配線しておる。
そう、iPad Pro Max 12.9" から、真空管アンプに接続しておる。
だが、この経路は、普段は使用しておらぬ。
なぜなら、真空管アンプのパラメトリックイコライザーを、低音Full Maxまで意図的に歪ませているためだ。
これには、理由があり、Drummerである私は、時として、Bassの音やBass Drum(s)の音を聴き、識別する
必要がある局面も事実として存在する為である。
私は普段はpure audioしか聴かないが、それでもこの製品は評価できる。コンパクトで、音質が良く、
極めて扱い易く、Lightningコネクタにも、USB Type-Cコネクタにも接続できる変換アダプタまで
標準で付属しておる。
ただな、処理の負荷をかけ続けた場合、本体がとても発熱するので、そこは注意せよ。
とは言っても、火傷をするほど熱い訳ではないし、接している紙が燃焼するほど熱い訳でもない。
まぁ、普通に触った瞬間に、ちょっとびっくりする程度の発熱具合である。
他は、特に問題は無い。値段もお手頃価格である。ちょっと洒落程度の気持ちで購入したが、
存外、十分に良い製品であることは、間違いない。

Apple Musicがハイレゾに対応した事で、DAPの存在意義が薄くなってきた今日この頃。とはいえ普段はBluetoothの便利さに慣れると嵩張るDACを有線で繋いで持ち歩くのもアホくさい。
でも、たまには本来の出音で聴かないと、なんか音楽の楽しさを忘れてしまいそうになる。

ちょっと喫茶店で座った合間に今だけはいい音で聴きたい。
そんな時にまさにこれって感じです。
LightningもType-CもType-Aも対応して、大きさも重さもApple純正コネクター並み。

音はiFiのそれ。分離も良く、リバーブ等の残響成分もよく表現してくれてます。
なによりパワーがあり、細かいドラムのゴーストノートも聞こえる。これはワイアレスでは絶対に聴けない音。

価格、品質、便利さ、機能の安定性全てにおいて圧倒的な満足度でした。オススメです。

ifi-audio Go linkとIKKO zerda ITM03 lightningをほぼ同時に中古良品を購入しました。（ともに7000円以下）はっきり言って、音質はIFIの方が2ランク位上です。 IKKOは使用しているDACのせいか、音のダイナミックレンジや、臨場感が物足りないです。まあとりあえずIKKOは光出力があるので、iPadからDDCとして気の向いた時DENONのアンプに接続して使います。（24bit/192khz認識）
＊熱はIFIの方がもちます。（30度〜40度位）

The iFi Go Link provides improved sound for very little money. The braided wire seems fragile so be careful. So far, I'm enjoying it.

Update: I was listening to some lossless rips of CDs I own and found one just didn't sound good. It sounded like a noisy recording so I decided to to a head-to-head comparison. I'm playing Taylor Guitar's Wood & Steel collection of artists playing beautifully recorded music. I ripped the CD into lossless FLAC files played through my Chromebook. My headphones are Sennheiser HD599. I plug the headphone jack into the analog jack of the Chromebook. The iFi GO Link goes into the USB 3 port. The difference isn't big but the iFi Go Link provides a clearer sound, a cleaner background, better stereo separation, cleaner details, and a more open sound; less tiring. The analog connection just doesn't sound as open. Does it make enough of a difference? I say yes.. For this price, I'm happy.

Should you purchase the iFi Go Link? There are more important elements in the chain that should attend to first.

1. Make sure you have a good lossless recording or are listening to a CD directly. It can't get better than your source material.

2. The best headphones you want to purchase. I don't feel the need to purchase $600 headphones but these Sennheiser's are working for me. You can enter the discussion about in-ear vs headphones, over the ear vs around the ear, open back vs closed back, wireless vs wired, noise cancelling vs not, balanced vs unbalanced cables, and planar magnetic vs dynamic technology. There are pros and cons to each. This is where you should spend the most money and research time aside from the cost of the music itself.

3. The digital to analog converter (DAC)/amplifier hardware. You can spend a lot of money here but for my usage the iFi Go Link hit the right price point for my first foray into DACs. I think this matches what my headphones and ear send to my brain.

4. What's fourth? I guess it's your ear and your environment. Right now, while I'm listening I can still hear my air conditioner. As far as my ear, I've lost some upper midrange but the high end is still pretty good (audiologist tested). I'm experienced musically so I know what to listen for. Of course, you mileage will vary.

I think that my audio chain is pretty well matched. If I chose a more expensive DAC/amp I might need better headphones and a better listening room. I don't feel tempted by the $200 DAC/amps out there.

Very happy with this dac from iFi, below you can see my review on head-fi.org:

Pros:
- Clear sound!!!
- Well balanced sound output with a good soundstage and instruments separation.
- High built quality, metal case and good quality components.
- Decent price - $89 cad + tax, on Amazon Canada.
- Very small and light, really feels like a dongle and not an actual DAC + AMP.
- Powerful enough to drive all my headphones: Shure SE535, Audiofly AF180 Mk2, and the large Audeze LCD 3.
- Comes with all adapters you need - including Lighting and the full size USB-A.
- Firmware that can be updated - very important to improve over time.
- Despite of having a large USB-C plug, it fits well all my phone cases - I was worried about this until it arrived today.
- Large USB-C makes it easy to plug or un-plug it.
- Cool ifi logo sticker - Thank you! :darthsmile:

Cons:
- The cable between the usb-c plug and the actual dac/amp is very thin, and feel very low quality - see photos compared with my headphones cables.
- The USB-C plug is huge, it better have a small board in it for that size :p
- The LED Light is too bright - can I turn it off? :thinking:
- The included manual has a font so small that I had a hard time reading it even with a magnifier - in fact I looked for the pdf version which I couldn't find online :ok_woman: .
- In the box there's a paper "Note for Charging - where applicable" - Does this device has a battery? Is it applicable for the Go Link or not? - I'm confused!
- The Volume Control is not the same across apps, devices, platforms. On my Pixel 7 Pro, on YouTube, a decent volume is at about 60% of the volume bar. Same phone, the Neutron Music Player has the same audio output at about 10% of the volume bar. But on Windows 10 the same volume I get at about 30%. On top of everything the first start had the volume at about 70% - which I found way too loud, luckily headphones were on the table and didn't burn. :scream:
- Updating the firmware is somehow confusing. The attached pdf, doesn't guide you how to install the firmware, or how to find what firmware is your device at, but how to install apps if the system doesn't allow 3rd party apps to be installed.
- No mobile App, to easily adjust a Master Volume, set a safe maximum as well to update firmware or check device current fw version.
- Firmware Update PDF document doesn't include what's new in the update.
- Firmware Updates are available only for Windows users, even if this device is built with Mobile users in mind.

Recommendations for ifi Go Link 2:
- Detachable cable - so it can be replaced if the usb-c plug goes bad.
- If not detachable, the cable should be thick, even wire breaded to make it last longer - it will be sad to throw it away because of a broken cable or usb c plug, it feels flimsy and cheap made.
- Make the LED turn off after 5 seconds. Turn it on again for another 5 sec if the user change the volume. It doesn't have to stay lit in my pocket for 7h
- The included manual to have a QR Code link for the Digital PDF manual - easy to zoom in without glasses on my phone :wink:
- Update the manual, on the box or in the included pamphlet the LED color meaning and how to change them.
- Move the Firmware Update through a Mobile App - you build this device for Smartphone users, not the Windows users!
- The same Mobile App to offer some settings like an option to set an output safe limit, apply filters, an Eq may be nice, or other cool stats and options.

Very happy with this dac from iFi, below you can see my review on head-fi.org:

Pros:
- Clear sound!!!
- Well balanced sound output with a good soundstage and instruments separation.
- High built quality, metal case and good quality components.
- Decent price - $89 cad + tax, on Amazon Canada.
- Very small and light, really feels like a dongle and not an actual DAC + AMP.
- Powerful enough to drive all my headphones: Shure SE535, Audiofly AF180 Mk2, and the large Audeze LCD 3.
- Comes with all adapters you need - including Lighting and the full size USB-A.
- Firmware that can be updated - very important to improve over time.
- Despite of having a large USB-C plug, it fits well all my phone cases - I was worried about this until it arrived today.
- Large USB-C makes it easy to plug or un-plug it.
- Cool ifi logo sticker - Thank you! :darthsmile:

Cons:
- The cable between the usb-c plug and the actual dac/amp is very thin, and feel very low quality - see photos compared with my headphones cables.
- The USB-C plug is huge, it better have a small board in it for that size :p
- The LED Light is too bright - can I turn it off? :thinking:
- The included manual has a font so small that I had a hard time reading it even with a magnifier - in fact I looked for the pdf version which I couldn't find online :ok_woman: .
- In the box there's a paper "Note for Charging - where applicable" - Does this device has a battery? Is it applicable for the Go Link or not? - I'm confused!

Using iPhone and iPad I wanted to experience Hi-Res Lossless. And o'boy what a difference. I find myself looking for enhanced recordings that aren't "just' lossless. Which speaks a million I think. And with good wired headphones your'e in for a treat. I bought a couple of in ear from another store based on getting much for spent money and wit Apple standard dongle they sound like with a lot of trebble and no bass. Well here is where the iFi DAC enters: Suddenly it was like listening with my newly nought Sony XM4 over ear. It's true. I couldn't believe it. If I had any doubts about a better DAC it went away within seconds. I mean: Wow! Unfortunately this means that I will have to look upp DAC-solutions for my Receiver with it's 7.2 setup. And for the computers. Now I KNOW what can be achieved and it's like listening to tracks for the first time. Now you can actually hear the different recording sessions and remakes made in Hi-Res and it's another level than before. I got the iFi after having looked around quite a lot. I must say I was somewhat suspicious at first. But with good cable connected headphones... It is something else. I'm converted and I imagine a DAC will hold for quite some time and that (for me) makes the price well worth it. I mean think of it as a quality changer that lasts maybe 3-5 years with perhaps 20-50 songs per day - the investment per song is almost nothing in the end. Well worth it and very happy to give DAC a try. I hope this "review" is of some usefulness for you. Happy DACing! :-) Cheers!
