My kindergarten students really loved this book - from the beautiful mermaid to the richly-illustrated sea life. The Earth-friendly message was clear and easy for my students to understand the importance of the ocean to humans and sea creatures. The ocean facts at the end were great conversation starters, and my students loved coming up with ways they could do their part to save the ocean! A gorgeous book that should be in every classroom!

We are so glad to know that this beautiful book exists! Now, more than ever, we need accessible and representative books for children that advocate for the protection of our earth and oceans. Ms. Williams’ story is fun and engaging, while also providing excellent information. The story uses kid-friendly, rhyming language and encourages kids to take specific steps towards being part of the solution. The pictures are gorgeous, full of all kinds of sea dwellers in vibrant colors. We highly recommend this book for families who want to learn more about pollution and how to help clean up our oceans! We steward a Little Free Library and are excited to make this book available to others.

A beautiful story that really hones in on the importance of saving our oceans! This is the first children's picture book that I've read that shows an African-American character that centers around "saving our oceans" and I love it! The illustrations are mesmerizing they are soft yet colorful. This is a great book that could be used in the classroom or at home.

Beautiful timely book and the illustrations are just perfect! My daughters love it and for them to see mermaids who look like them as well is so important. Loses one star as the quality of the book is quite low - flimsy and would tear easily so not built to last. A shame. I bought this book as a present and at £12.00 I expected it to be decent quality. Sadly when the book arrived it was really poorly printed, it looked as though the machine which had printed it had malfunctioned. The story is nice and thought provoking but definitely not worth the price.
