Usage Tips

The bottom of the bottle opener is equipped with a Type-C interface, which can be recharged with a universal data cable.

  • Rotate 2 circles with the foil cutter to remove the foil seal.

After putting my manual wine opener to rest I splurged and picked this beauty up. It arrives in this sleek, black box that makes you feel like you're about to open some $200 bottle of wine when you only purchased it to open something a step up from a $15 boxed wine (in the bottle). She came with all of her parts and just for reference I ordered the battery-operated one (don't forget to order double-A batteries while you're at it). I dumped out all of her contents from the box and everything was wrapped up in its only little bag which meant I didn't have to Lysol wipe things down (you know because of COVID and all). I ripped open the package of batteries and looked for someplace to stick them so I could finally open this bottle I've been holding on to. As the instructions lay at my side I struggle to find the opening to place the batteries and notice there is an indicator line with a tiny lock and an unlocked lock at the top. I'm twisting, turning, pushing, and pulling like I'm trying to open a child-proof medicine bottle. The struggle is real and either they have adult-proofed this top on here or it's been sealed with Gorilla Glue. I continue to struggle because I'm determined to see how this little gadget works, and let's be real by now I deserve a glass (or two) of wine. After about 2 to 3 mins of pulling, pushing, turning and twisting I thought I had sprain my finger and needed to seek medical attention - the tip pops up. That injury healed rather quickly and I placed the batteries in multiple times in various ways until I got it right (yes all while the instructions lay there next to me). After a bit of time playing Genga with the batteries, I got them in place. I grabbed my bottle and watched her work her magic. She effortlessly removed that cork and I reversed the button to watch her spit it out. She understood the assignment.

I love her and would definitely recommend her to anyone who is in need of a new wine opener. Be gentle with her because she's new especially putting those batteries in for the first time. Work on your hand and finger muscles before she arrives to your home because it's a doozy opening her up. I would have gotten the USB one but who has a USB station in their kitchen gadget drawer? And while I do drink in front of the computer while I watch movies on Netflix that's not where I keep my wine opener or my wine.
