About the author
Ben Burgess Jr is an award-winning author and youth mentor who uses his writing and spoken word poetry to inspire urban youth. His bestselling novels "Mothers Vol. 1," "Defining Moments, and "A Father's Sacrifice: Daddy's Girl" tackle challenging themes like bullying and gang violence with empathy.
As a child residing in New York, Burgess encountered numerous challenges mirrored in his literary works. Frequent school visits, active participation in community-building initiatives, and tutoring and mentoring young people throughout the Tri-State area are reflections of these experiences. Nationwide, he has presented his anti-bullying assemblies in schools, which include motivational speeches and dramatic readings. He continues working to improve urban neighborhoods through literacy and character development initiatives.
In addition to writing, Burgess holds a BA in Business Management and an MA in Educational Leadership. He continues to promote literacy and character development as vehicles for positive change. The proud father of three daughters, his dream is to adapt his impactful books into major motion pictures that deliver messages of hope and redemption.

If I were to pick an audience for this book it would definitely be for young ladies living with they're father's alone. Reading about the experience could bring some insight towards they're situation. FOOLS character was real. I know a lot of them. And Hazel was a darn mess.
