Such a difference
Our old farmhouse has a fly problem every spring. I normally get the disposable fly traps that fill up in a week and then smell like death in the hot sun.These are similar to those but the flys don't end up smelling as horrible because the screen type mesh allows them to air out and dry after dying. The number of flies that survive has reduced drastically and that means less bugs in our house, yard and on our food if we choose to eat outside.I would suggest getting the center hook put on before placing the bait bowl on, it is a bit difficult to get hooked when the bowl is there.This not only catches flies but I've seen a large number of earwigs and wasps caught in them as well. Bonus!Out of the pack I've only had one that ended up being thrown out but that was because a rodent/bird ate threw the mesh to get to the dead flys and put a big enough hole that it was unusable.The bait stinks but is not as bad as competing bags and eventually, the smell is just no longer an issue.We have a lot of Gusty wind and these stay put. They don't end up swinging and spilling stinky bait all over like the plastic bag versions.This 8-pack cost the same as one of the disposable and smaller capacity traps I mentioned above.So far, I haven't tried to get the dead flies out to clean them for storage because they are still collecting bugs. But based on the one that had the hole it will probably be tasking to do in a hygienic way. It might just be worth it to throw them away and reorder new one's next year.I'm so very thankful for these traps!

These work well. The picture is in my chicken yard after only a couple of hours. They are a little aggravating to hang because the inner hook kept getting hung up on the netting. And the bowl of Yuck is very lightweight. It would be easy to spill on yourself if you're not really careful. The powder they included to add to water and use as bait isn't very effective. But we made our own nasty lure liquid and it is working really well. These things work. And for the price, I don't mind the trouble to hang and making my own lure.
