It works beautifully straight from the tube as well as reactivated from dry paint, and is easy to reconstitute.
But what truly astounds me is the color itself. I just couldn’t find anything that mixed as well or was as interesting as this one. Depending on your preference or what you need in your painting, it’s really easy to get a rich and saturated tone which leans almost toward a purple when it’s at full strength. However, if you add a touch of yellow, it’s easy to get it closer to a spectrum red, just more interesting.
The only thing I’m not sure about is the lightfastness and whether or not, it’s a fugitive color. I don’t tend to pay very much attention to that because I do keep digital copies of any paintings that I want to save for along time and anything that I paint for fun is just for fun and I’m not really worried about how it will hold up Years and years from now. What I can say is that it has definitely inspired me and enhanced my color palette and my painting/creative process. I am absolutely ride or die for this paint!
