Good Story
This the third book in the series. But it isn’t necessary to have read the other two books to enjoy this one. This story has surprises, tenderness, hockey player, best friend’s sister, romance where least expect it, and lots of chemistry. Tristan feels led to be there for Kendra, who has been through some horrible times. It was wonderful to see Tristan want to be different so he could be there for Kendra. It’s definitely one I’d recommend.

First of all, there were some negatives with this story that I wasn't expecting, based on the flow of the first two books in the series. Both Ryker & Aiden I would consider "safe" reads - now OW/OM, no real relationship drama, just stories about couples coming together & working on relationships.

Tristan opens with him in bed with two women after a night of his normal drinking & boinking. I know, storywise, this is to show his development through the story, but it was something I wasn't expecting & didn't like. It's not graphic, just the "morning after" kinda thing, but bothered me enough to mention.

There were also some storyline drops which gave me pause. Not many, just noticeable to me.

Now, for the good! I adore both Kendra & Tristan! They have known each other forever & had mutual, hidden crushes. When she needs help, he steps right in. And tho he doesn't recognize why, exactly, his man whoring days ended as soon as he got on the plane to bring her to Cali.

I love their friendship & how they support each other. Tristan helps her heal, physically and emotionally, and they do get into steamy times after a bit!

I love how Kendra is folded in & builds friendships with Avery & Tori! And the ending is adorable & fantastic!

So, overall, I enjoyed the story & am looking forward to more in the series!

Tristan not only wants Kendra but he also wants to be a father to her baby. They finally confess their love. I loved this book. I loved that Tristan was upfront with jackson and that there was no brother drama.

I love this series by Samatha Lind and she has outdone herself with the hopeful and emotional story of Tristan and Kendra. Tristan dropped everything when his best friend Jackson called asking for his help, and flew to Boston to comfort him and his sister Kendra, who was in the hospital.

He was shocked and angry when he saw the extent of her injuries, and he immediately wanted to protect Kendra from anyone hurting her ever again. Tristan may be a big, tough hockey player, but he has a soft side that Kendra appreciated as he quietly asked her to stay with him in California while she recuperated. Kenda couldn’t ignore how handsome and sexy Tristan was and she knew that spending time with him would only make her crazy with desire. She thought Tristan was only being nice to her because he was friends with her brother, which was true, but Tristan also felt a deep connection to Kendra that he could not explain. He not only wanted to protect her but he needed to know if she felt the same way about him.

I always think that Ms. Lind has already written about her most romantic couple but with Tristan and Kendra she has given us a special man, full of compassion and romance, and the woman who needed him when she thought all was lost. Together, they chased away Kendra’s fears, and embraced the gift of being together.

This author know how’s how to write characters you really care about as a reader. I do wish the author wrote longer books. This book also contains the forced proximity trope which I absolute adore in romance novels. This book and the series is in Kindle Unlimited at the time of the writing of this review. I would not recommend this book to anyone who prefers less detailed sex scenes and/or closed door romance novels.
