The Opove Massage Gun for Athletes Deep Tissue Professional Percussion Fascia Massager, WOW!Was purchased on August 12, 2021 and the only issue I can remember was the selection of attachments because I purchased a set from somewhere here because I was not too happy with their selection but I needed it and it always made the Ol'Klunker feel better with either attachment.So it has been used A WHOLE LOT on this Ol"klunker in the first 11 months but due to health issues I took about a month off and when I started again... no lights & NOT charging and OF COURSE it had to happen around 30 days past its 1 year warranty expiration date so I started pricing massagers, AGAIN, and I noticed the original purchase, M3 Pro Max, Black NOT AVAILABLE at Amazon so just for the shirt of it I decided to email the manufacturer, OP MASSAGER AND much to my surprise I was asked to submit a short video & answer a few questions... lo & behold, per the attached pics, a replacement M3 Pro Max, Black over a month past its expiration date!It is always a pleasure dealing with professional responsible customer reps with companies that stand behind their products unlike OTHERS (you know who you are!) that really don't care.I am including how the massager box arrived in order to document in case something occurs to this unit prematurely but note that the outer shipping box was not deformed in anyway and the unit is working today.It was a pleasure doing business with Opove try them you won't be disappointed!

Bought this for my various injuries- I'm very active in hiking, running, swimming, lifting, etc, and have several injuries including a herniated lumbar disc, plantar fasciitis, etc etc. Great battery life- but of course performance is the most important thing and this gun really shines. I did a lot of research and this one was well recommended. In comparing it to the one the chiropractor has in my clinic, this Opove gun is MUCH better, capable of sustaining more force without the motor bottoming out. I use it regularly at home (as Massage Therapists, we cannot use guns on our patients). Love it!

It was good but only lasted 4 months. Suddenly stopped working even when it had full charge. It just won't come on anymore. Seller has no phone numbers to call and get replacement under warranty, which at this point I'm not sure I even want the same brand. Amazon will accept return with restocking fee. :((

First and foremost, the product is bought with my own money and am not paid to do this review. However, a letter inside the box is offering to give a 59.99 eye massager for a review of their product. Will update this should it sway my review in the future...

I am not an owner of a plethora of percussion massage guns, just this one... I have tried others such as the Thergun and an Amazon Massage Gun generic model.

Bottom line, reading through the specs of the Theragun Pro series and this, the price point of almost similar specs lead me to purchase this massager. The higher stall force capability, higher amplitude of strokes, and noise compared to other guns (spec wise) are some points every b/vlogger or youtuber would note in their reviews but a couple more of points for you to consider are: weight and build quality.

The stall force is good but quite frankly, at 30lbs of applied pressure, it should be more than enough to get the knots out. 55lbs is a lot of pain. I opted for the higher stall force so I am not riding the applied weight always at 30lbs. Less effort on the machine hopefully makes it last longer.

Noise is a bit concerning since it is above 3dB louder than some published numbers. As a note, anything less than 3dB compared to other products is unnoticeable. This on the other hand was noisier than the Thergun and generic Amazon Massage Gun. Not by a lot where I had to elevate my voice and increase the volume of the tv/radio/podcast i am listening too.. but it is a noticeable change. It is still quite easy to have a good conversation with someone and it is not embarrassing to use in public (i.e.: gym)

Should you have weak forearm strength, this is probably not ergonomically suitable for you and the weight is slightly heavier than the generic massager. Me and my partner would use this on each other so the weight really was not an issue for me but it could be a point of concern should you decide to bring this with you to the gym.

Build quality: overall, its ok. It is coated with this rubbery felt finish and the buttons feel good enough. I say its ok because, the on/off button looks and feels cheap at the bottom, the LCD only has one brightens level, and the grease which is on the exterior of the pumping mechanism holding the attachments are already clumping out.

A couple of things I wish this did were:
1) seal the grease properly, its gross and can get into other things like clothing should this be tossed in a bag
2) add an indicator light on the charging brick. I dont know if the massager is charging unless i turn on the cheap switch at the bottom. I dont even know if its fully charged or not.
3) add a note to first turn off, or put the device in 0 speed, before switching modes. For me it is adjusting the percussiveness more when i do this. Changing it while on a speed setting randomly changes its speed.
4) On the user manual, please check spelling. My spelling and grammar sucks but this is for the public to use and it should at the least be spelled correctly.

Would I recommend this to others? Quite frankly, not really. Should they want more umph in their massage, or know how to use this device properly, then yea! This is a good fit. But for most of my friends who want to have some muscle relief, a $130 max generic massager would probably be good enough.

I think there's 4 things that are important in a massage gun 1) Stoke amplitude (how far the head moves in and out), 2) Stall force which is how much pressure you can apply before the guns stops working, 3) Noise and 4) Price.

If you didn't care about noise, your best bet is one of the adapted jigsaws like the WORX that have a stoke amplitude of 29mm and a stall force so high that I couldn't get it to stop (plus, jigsaws are cheap). The main problems with the jigsaws were that they are so loud that they are annoying as crap and also they make you always hold down the trigger.

I liked the Fitpulse gun when it worked but it was defective twice so I returned it. The Fitpulse had a stroke amplitude of 10mm and a reasonable stall force. I tried the Flyby F1 pro because it claimed to have a stoke amplitude of 15mm, but in my opinion it was more like 6mm and felt more like a strong vibration than a massage gun. The Hyperice Hypervolt felt much like a Fitpulse but had a much better stall force. It's also very expensive The Hypervolt Plus actually feels really good with a pulse amplitude of 13 mm and a very high stall force, but it is expensive. It lists for $400 but you can get a non-bluetooth version for $300 while supplies last.

Finally the Opove M3 Max feels great. It gave me a significantly better massage than the Fitpulse or the Hypervolt and as good or better than the Hypervolt Plus. (I like a very vigorous massage so if that's not what you want, get a different gun. ) They claim that the pulse amplitude is 15mm and I believe them because it measured slightly more than the Hypervolt plus. I also measured the noise level with my phone and on at the highest setting I loudest measurement I could get was about 64 db which was only 2 db more than the Hypervolt Plus. (They sound extremely similar and they're both quiet enough that my family won't chase me from the room when we're watching TV)

The only slight negative is that the stall force is less than the Hypervolt plus and I don't know if I believe then when they say it's 50lb (It's more like the Fitpulse in that respect.) Still it's never been an issue for me, and I go extremely deep. I got my gun for $169 and if you hunt around for coupons you can get it at that price. For me it's the best one by far unless you are willing to spend a ton of money.

I have only tried a couple other cheaper massage guns on Amazon, and this one is noticeably better in terms of strength and power. The stall force is by far the best, which really allows the massage gun to get deep into the muscles (especially on my tired legs).

It is insanely strong (like a jackhammer) which took me by surprise at first and took me a while tinkering with it before really appreciating it (and I normally like strong massages). It is too strong for my neck (my whole brain vibrates even at the lowest setting) so if you need it for a sensitive area I'd go for a weaker/cheaper one, but for all other parts of my body I find it is amazing. It is hard to reach my back by myself in such a way as to apply enough pressure for a deep massage, but better with help from someone. In general I find it takes some strategy in terms of how you apply pressure and how much of it and where, at least for a massage gun "newb" like me. It can get weighty after a long period of time in a hard to reach area like the back. For easier to reach areas like my arms and legs I do not find the weight to be a problem at all. The battery life is also amazing. It has been about a week and it is still at more than half.

I would definitely recommend this massage gun.
