Product Description

Silent Night, Deadly Night is the heartwarming story of little Billy Chapman who was traumatized by his parents' Christmas Eve murder, then brutalized by sadistic orphanage nuns. But when grown-up Billy is to dress as jolly St. Nick, he goes on a yuletide rampage to "punish the naughty!" Santa Claus is coming to town…and this time he's got an axe! Robert Brian Wilson and Scream Queen Linnea Quigley (Return of the Living Dead) star in this jaw-dropping horror classic that a nation of angry mothers still cannot stop!

I love this movie!!! But very disappointed I didn’t receive the box sleeve for this. It says it’s a collectors edition, also it’s advertised with a sleeve. Pretty disappointed.

This first Silent Night Deadly Night is way better than 2 through 5. Rest of 'em sucks. This collector's edition has tons of special features. Best picture quality and sound. You get two Blu-ray discs one is the theatrical version and the other Blu-ray disc is the unrated version. The unrated version has the special features on it. That one is way better. I can't believe the P.A.T. fought to ban this. Don't let children see it and don't place it on television anymore. This storyline is very quite good. To those who haven't seen it. If you're a horror fan like me you'll love it. Highly recommend it and two thumbs 👍🏻👍🏻 up!

DVD Review: If you already own the DVD version or the double feature which includes the first and second Silent Night Deadly Night movies then there is NO reason to acquire the Blu Ray. The only new feature to this Blu Ray opposing the DVD is an audio commentary which was lousy. They needed a moderator or something. But I bought the Blu Ray because it was 5 bucks and a slight upgrade was fine by me. The picture quality is PERFECT AND DOESN'T NEED TO LOOK LIKE SOME CLEAR A$$ HD PIECE OF S***! I LIKE GRINDHOUSE, B-MOVIE, CRAPPY PICTURE SO UP YOURS!!! 1:85 ratio and neat sound.

Movie Review: This movie ranks at #2 of my all time favorite slasher movies ever made. The film really made a stink in the throats of film critics and concerned parents for the idea of Santa being a serial (spree actually) killer running around and killing people. I LOVE IT!!! F*** YOU WHINNY S***S!!! The odd thing is that there has been slasher movies with a Christmas theme before this movie as no one said s*** about them. Perplexed sayeth I! Anyways, I loved this movie because of its story and, of course, its bloody killings. Some people out this film for it's cheesiness and sleaziness but I think the way they told the story about a child's traumatization from seeing a Santa killing his parents, physical abuse by a grumpy old nun, leading up to his psychological breakdown when he became the very thing he hated (Santa) was brilliantly executed. Of course, if not for bad acting (WHICH I LOVED) I think this movie would get a lot more credit which IT DESERVES but eh! Can't win them all.

Conclusion: 5 stars for the Blu Ray (if you didn't buy the DVD) and 5 stars for Silent Night Deadly Night.

Silent Night, Deadly Night is a cult classic. It was much hated when it was released in 1984 due to Santa Claus being used in a violent horror movie. However, people have come to appreciate it over time. No, it doesn't quite rank up there with slashers like Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street or Black Christmas, but its right there with The Burning, The Prowler, My Bloody Valentine and Friday the 13th in the 2nd tier section of slasher films.

There is the gore and nudity that people expect from this type of film, but what's really surprising is how solid the script is in terms of the development of the main character. How he transitions from a child that saw a tragic event to murderer on a rampage. Honestly, I'm not usually a fan of these kind of slashers having such a focus on a backstory as it often kills the mystery and the mystique of the character by giving us all the answers. The backstory here isn't cliche, and you will probably feel some sympathy for Billy.

It should be noted that the Director's Cut does have some inserts that are in standard def. Be aware of that. But, this cut is most people's preferred version. There are also plenty of special features to check out if you're interested in those.

I first saw this movie on cable and was freaked out by it, but as I got older it was less scary. The story does have a plot, but If I were the kid in the movie I would have been traumatized for life. Watch this movie and you will know what I'm talking about.

Let's be honest. These movies are bad, but so BAD they are GOOD! They don't make that much sense, the storylines are lost, and the acting is "comical" when it is supposed to be serious. Genius! If you want to have a fun night of movie viewing that doesn't require a lot of thought, these movies are for you! Give them a chance and don't take life so seriously for a couple hours. You may will be surprised how good it feels to laugh again.

Gosh, poor Billy. He is having a really crappy Christmas Eve. First they visit senile Grandpa who first chance he gets fondles him and gives him the 411 on Saint Nick. Then on the way home a robber dressed as Santa pretends to have a broke down car. His parents stop to help and Santa fails to deliver toys but he does deliver two dead parents. Flash Forward to an orphanage and naturally Billy is a bit different now then his other orphan mates. Mother Superior is especially hard on Billy because Billy seems to have a hard on for watching people get sexy 80's style. She flogs him and continues to be rough on him. The movie fast forward to 1984 Billy gets a job at a store that resembles a hardware store but sure seems to sell a lot of Muppets Merch. Billy is told he will be playing Santa and like any adult once the brats start lining up and sitting on his lap screaming and crying in his face he loses it. After the store closes Billy decides that he no longer wants to be the Jolly Old Elf and opts for more Krampus mode and takes out his coworkers...no not to eat. He kills them all. After escaping the store he basically goes on a rampage the highlight being the woman impaled on the deer antlers then makes his way back to the orphanage with a side trip to disrupt some night time sledding. The movie is quite fun, pretty tame by todays standards and it is a brisk 85 minutes. I am a horror afficianado and I had seen all the sequels first and somehow never got around to the original. Not sure what all the fuss was about other than I suppose 1984 was a kinder more gentler time but the movie is quite a bit of fun especially when Billy either makes up a Christmas carol or constantly says "naughty" and "punish". Freddy Krueger he is not.

5.0 out of 5 stars Clásico de clásicos
Reviewed in Spain on January 13, 2017
