Spoiler Alert - I have known Marty for 30+ years and am in this book as Kevin.

Without Marty fulfilling his Mission to preach the gospel, I would not be here today. God spoke to him in the mid 90's to be ready for a divine appointment - it was me on a flight. I arrived drunk (it was only 8am) and sat next to Marty. To be honest, I was a jerk (in the beginning), but Marty's Spirit filled heart never wavered. Long story short, he kept in touch for several years - praying for me constantly. I finally accepted Jesus June of 2000. Since then, my entire family has been raised in a Christ centered family. My wife works at our church, our children attend our church's school and I've led or partnered in several ministries. My life is so incredibly blessed and it started with Marty being faithful. He is the real deal.

That is what Mission Accomplished is about - reaching broken and lost people like me. Marty outlines what our calling truly is - searching for Jesus and evangelizing his good news. Realize though, Marty is a pure nut job! What he is doing and has done is far beyond what I could imagine. As you read his book and stories, your jaw will drop because every word is true.

Mission Accomplished will take you on an amazing journey around the world. You will share tears of joy, shouts of amazement and moments of disbelief. You will also start to understand how pure and laser focused Marty's love for Jesus really is. Mission Accomplished is the 'HOW TO' book on learning our destiny with Jesus Christ.

Buy this book, but be prepared to be convicted!

Mission Accomplished is the most edifying and significant book on the Great Commission in particular, and missiology in general, that I know of. As one of Jesus’ “sent ones,” Dr. Meyer has written from a lifetime of experience in many nations under fascinating and sometimes dangerous conditions. With infectious joy this book is about the Father’s intention for every believer to personally meld together Jesus’ Great Commandment and Great Commission into a single flow of life that can make a difference in a broken world. Having been involved for nearly 30 years directly in mission work in India, the Middle East, and New York City, I found myself acquiring new insights into what makes following Jesus attractive and desirable in any nation or culture, even among people opposed to the Gospel. Dr. Meyer’s approach is uniquely significant among the abundant literature on both missiology and everyday witnessing. I predict it will become a classic resource for understanding the richness of the comprehensive Christian life that will flow from the application of these two Great Commandments of Jesus both on the mission field and in the everyday lives of all followers of Jesus. I would especially recommend it to church planters in any nation. One will make far fewer mistakes if this book is taken seriously.

Marty Meyer has quite a story to tell! His Mission Accomplished is a compelling, stirring account, including reflection on relevant Scripture passages illustrated by gripping, personally lived-out experiences from his life as a missionary. Reading it will indeed help many discover their unique destinies in Jesus Christ’s call to follow Him in the particular mission He has for each of us. What an adventurous, thrilling way to live our brief lives on earth--serving with all our hearts the One who created, redeemed and empowers us day by day to make a difference in His global purposes! You will want to not only read it yourself, but also discuss with others the thoughtful questions at the end of each chapter!
