The graphics is beautiful and the movement is so fluid and natural. Was very challenging but also VERY rewarding. Loved every second of it!!
An overall amazing Metroidvania experience that proves why the Metroid series was capable of kickstarting a genre. You don't need to have played the older instalments to enjoy it, as the game opens with a recap of the past few games. Movement and controls are extremely fluid and satisfying, and the Switch hardware allows for some cutscenes and sequences that are just a spectacle to behold. There's nothing really to complain about, because it's the best possible modern rendition of the Metroid format we could've got.
TLDR:
Graphics: crisp and detailed.
Story: a satisfying twist and ending to this arc spanning 35 years.
Gameplay: satisfying and responsive (not super floaty and slow like the older instalments)
I recommend this to all Switch owners.
(PS. I saw another review saying that the sounds from the game alarmed their dog — this was not true in my case, and I own two dogs. Of course, that could just be an anomaly, but there are no sounds that personally disturbed me or my pets.)

The movement of Samus is just sublime, it makes exploring the huge maps a pleasure. I found myself wanting to explore every inch of each map/area, while using the map to plan out the best path to take. This was especially important when going through the EMMI areas, which has brought a whole new level of excitement to Medroid. The sound effects and music sound incredible when played with good headphones. The level design and the visuals blew me away and was so much more than I was expecting. You really do get drawn into the game and feel like you are apart of it. I especially liked the areas with water, looked incredible. Lots of varied boss fights that are very challenging and rewarding and make you use every ability you have collected along the way. If you’ve played a Metroid game before or like this genre then you will love this game. The best game I have played in a while 10/10
play for a few minutes here and there.
Exactly the type of game that I want for my Switch.
Play smoothly on the Oled Switch, Crisp Graphic, Tight Control, Fun Exploration puzzle.
