I purchased this to replace an older humidifier and have been so pleased. It looks very nice and I love the fact it has the two water compartments as you can refill one at a time. I rinse them with vinegar and water about every other one and have an Aquastick antimicrobial in each compartment. The unit is very quiet and it keeps our very dry living room at a nice 65% humidity. There are various settings for adjustment of the humidity level that adjust easily. There is a button to turn on a lighted ring around the humidity adjustment for night time and you can even make the mist warm if you chose.

This is the best humidifier I have owned for easy of use, cleaning and efficiency.

Lift either tank off the unit while turned off, open the fill port, pour in your water ( I just use distilled - better for the machine ) and set it back onto the unit. Turn it on and it starts to do its thing. I bought it to get over a nasty respiratory thing I had. It helped a lot. I've run it a few times non-stop for a couple of days at a time hoping I wouldn't run it into the ground. It's held up just fine. I'm really happy with it. I bought it as a refurb. I really like the two tank feature. I have had it for a little over 3 months now and no major issues. Sometimes one tank doesn’t want to empty into the reservoir. I turn it off and reload the tanks and it works. When I use the warm setting it makes some gurgling noise while it warms up but it goes away. So I'll start off with the good. I purchased this exact humidifier over 2 years ago for our daughters room and we love it. It is easy to use, the tanks last a long time on low, it is quiet and most importantly to me EASY TO CLEAN.

So when in the market for a new one for my room I thought it was an easy decision. The first one delivered didn't turn on at all. Homedics has a note in there to contact them first before returning it. I tried for several days. Via 800 number, via email and via their contact us on their website. I have not heard back from any of those avenues and it has been 2 weeks.

I returned the first unit and got a replacement from Amazon. That one turned on. Great! But this one makes an annoying high pitched noise that I can't live with. And since I already own one, I know it shouldn't make this sound. I wish I had taken video. But when you take it apart you can see the water vibrating over the ultra sonic membrane and if you disrupt the vibration the sound stops.

This one is also being returned. I can't replace it since they are on back order. I'm ordering a third straight from Homedics. Hopefully this one works.
