Every book that Emily has written has touched my heart in a profound way, but Growing Boldly could not have come at a more perfect time! Emily has an amazing way with words. She makes you feel like she is sitting down with you to a cup of coffee in her living room. I cried multiple times reading this book because Emily spoke to my heart and allowed me to feel emotions I didn't know I had. Emily's thoughtful and encouraging messages along with the stories that she included from other inspiring women in this book allowed me to find clarity and motivation in a tough season of life as a mom of twin toddlers and an entrepreneur of a young company. Before my twin daughters were born, I bought a painting that said "Bloom where you are planted" and hung it in my daughter's room. Every day I look at it and remind myself that I am blooming where God has intended me to be despite the challenges. Emily's quote "it's entirely possible to bloom in the driest of seasons, to flourish when life feels as if it's falling apart" has completely spoken to my heart and has given me the restored energy, motivation, and courage to ask myself the hard questions and truly begin to build a life I love. This book is beautiful from start to finish both in words and images. I truly hope it touches your heart, no matter what stage of life you are in, just as it has mine.

The timing of this book was an incredible gift.

2020 primed me for change and this book has given me the latitude and the motivation to take that confident step forward.
Page after page, it felt like I was sitting with a trusted friend who was telling me what I absolutely **needed** to hear, while gently encouraging me to dig deep and do the work on readjusting the sails of my life. Also, I recently turned 50. I add this to my review because I wanted to let all the ladies in my “new” age bracket know that this book will speak to you in all the ways you need it to, and tell you all the things you need to hear. I really enjoyed this book. It encouraged me to dig deeper into what I really believe--what is important to me, and what I want out of life. I'm at a point in life where I want to be genuine. I want to be kind. I want to continually improve myself, but also look outside myself to see what I can do for others. This book challenged me on many levels--spiritual, emotional, practical. I liked the book so much I purchased additional copies for 2 of my best friends.
I have to comment on a couple of highly negative reviews which expressed surprise and displeasure that this was a Christian-oriented book. Emily Ley is a very well-known Christian inspirational writer. The publisher, Thomas Nelson, is one of the best-known publishers of Christian books in the world. It's not fair to ding a book in a review for not doing your own due diligence.

2020 was a year where life was forced to slow down. For me it gave a lot more time to think and reflect. Growing Boldly was written before Covid happened, but couldn’t have come out at a more perfect time. This book is like a blueprint where I can write down all of the things I’ve reflected on and be asked questions that I haven’t thought about. It has set a fire under me to put into place those plans I made for myself for post-Covid life (and some things I considered long ago, but pushed aside). I have changed and grown. Who am I now? Where am I now? What is important to me and how are I going to make that happen? I’m still figuring this out, but with the help of Growing Boldly I realize I have been on a path to build a life I love my entire life. 2020 put a magnifying glass on my life, my world was forced a bit smaller and because of this, it provided me with the opportunity to find perspective and clarity. With my newfound perspective and the reading of this book, I have recognized some undeniable truths and those undeniable truths have helped provide me with a solid foundation to build on top of. I highly recommend Growing Boldly for anyone. It’s like having another friend in your corner asking you the tough questions and cheering you on as you continue on your path to building a life you love... and are worthy of.
