Okay this book was awesome.
A human caring for two twins shifter royal boys.
A royal shifter on the hunt for a shifter trafficking ring.
A mate that Rafe has waited for for five hundred years.
Jasmine had cared for Levi and Seth since they were a few days old after a shifter mother entrusted her cubs to the woman who saved them. That would be Jasmine.
Rafe learned of a shifter child who was adopted illegally and came to investigate, but he found a family instead.
Josh who still loves Jasmine is having a hard time with Jasmine and Rafe being together.
Also he has learned a few bad things about his deceased brother who willed custody of his illegally adopted daughter to him. Finding out that said child is also a shifter is hard to.
Now we have other threats, namely Jon.
Jonah a.k.a Jon is having an affair with Cindy who was also involved with Josh's deceased brother at the same time oh yes she is also married to Jack? Soap opera you day yup.
But see Jon is the one who kidnapped Nina Rafes sister and was using her to become immortal, but yeah it didn't work, but she had the twins. But now he has Jasmine in his sites because of Rafes attraction to her. So revenge is all around.
This book holds no laughs, no well detailed tales of intimate moments, but the kisses wow there hot.
There is alot of testosterone thrown about alot of jealousy not just from the males, Jasmine has a few moments of pure rage and jealousy when confronted with past lovers of Rafe and women who blatantly throw them selves at him.
By the description of him from the author he is a God in every way.
So the book is full of fighting mix signals pour judgment and hard headed stubborn people.
The tears started flowing when Seth was taken and his parentage was revealed, the real nose blowing all out balling was when Jon dunk his claws into Jasmines stomach and she bleed out in front of Rafe and her boys. That was a hard pill to swallow. You could feel the pain coming from her and her loved ones and you could sence the regret in Rafe as he realizes that he should have listened to his mate when she told him his revenge would turn out bad. But all that didn't matter what was more or less the kicker, a human mother to two shifter cubs willing to die for just one was it. The love she had for those boys and knowing they were safe with Rafe and his pride she could die in peace.
You have to read the story to see if Rafes procrastination on mating with Jasmine cost him his true mates life.
This book took about five hours to read. I read it right through dinner could not put it down.

RAFE by Dana Archer is the first book in the Shifter World: Royals and Alphas paranormal romantic suspense series. Dana Archer is the pen name for author Nancy Corrigan. This is a version of Nancy Corrigan's book TREASURED FIND that eliminates the explicit romantic scenes and harsh language but does reference the sensual scenes.

Jasmine Wyn distrusts a lot of people and shifter men specifically. But when Rafe Alexander appears in town, she is drawn to him despite the secrets she needs to keep. Rafe has been sent to the small community in West Virginia to investigate a shifter child living with a human. When trouble comes, Jasmine has to decide whether or not to trust Rafe.

The story line is original for a shifter story, but more background would have been beneficial. It felt more like a second book in a series than the first book. Despite this, it was a very good beginning to the series. The chemistry between the two main characters is great and the suspense part of the story was well integrated into the plot. The main characters were strong and had clear goals. The secondary characters were introduced and will be main characters in future books in the series. So there is plenty of action as well as lots of danger and romance. There are several themes that are explored in the book including love, romance, assault, young shifters living with humans, shifter trafficking, kidnapping, rape and abuse. The darker topics are discussed, but not explicitly shown.

Overall, this was a suspenseful, absorbing, and entertaining read. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

I rate this closed door version as a 3 star. However, I rate the open door version “Treasured Find” as 5 star. Yes, the sex scenes are removed but there are important events that happen during 2 such scenes that we miss out on in the closed version. Which left me extremely confused while reading. I felt like I had missed a huge part of the story each time these events happened. Mrs. Archer could have handled these situations much better, by immediately adding a scene where these events are reviewed/explained from the appropriate characters point of view so we are given the info we need to stay within the story. Immediately after the first skipped sex scene, which includes a major event that we are in the dark about, we are given a descriptive scene of the h being forced to grope someone. What!?! I was shocked that we were denied a major event, but exposed to that. Didn’t make sense to me.
Because the story is great and interesting I recommend that you try “Treasured Find”. Same story with the missing events in this version.

I liked the action and intrigue in this story. Royal shifters, who are immortal, among other talents, came to find and save their kin. Rafe tries to convince a beautiful human as his one true mate. The bad guy never gives up trying to kill innocents and the royal shifters remain steadfast protectors in the story. There is so much more action, but I'd like to leave those juicy details to readers!

The plot is good. I was interested the whole time. I have to be honest I missed the sex scenes after the sexual build up but after the first time I got used to it. The Royal shifter idea is new and different. The shifter society is definitely a patriarchy in this book so that may bother some. I liked the characters and would read book 2 to see what happens to them.
