All that aside the motherboard runs like a dream. The BIOS are extremely easy to navigate and I have to give MSI major props for creating a comprehensive but easy to understand user's manual for their mobo. I was able to understand what everything was on my mobo because it was CLEARLY labeled in my user manual and on top of that if I was confused about anything the manual pretty much addressed anything I needed to know if I was confused about something so THANK YOU MSI for making beginners like me feel less anxious about installing a mobo!
Overall if you're looking for great performance WITHOUT breaking the bank this is definitely the mobo for you!
-Less than $200
-TPM slot (for Windows Bitlocker encryption)
-Looks good without being overboard
-x470 type to future proof a generation or two of upcoming Ryzen releases
-Potentially overclockable if I ever wanted to get into that
This motherboard fit all of these with ease. I only wish its AC companion with wifi hit the sub-$200 requirement, otherwise I would have considered it instead. In any case, I had high hopes for this motherboard, and it has performed well so far.
My build:
-NZXT H500 case
-Ryzen 2700 CPU
-Red Dragon RX Vega 56 GPU
-ADATA RAM x4 (8GB per stick to total 32GB)
-Seasonic Gold 750W PSU
Installing the motherboard was easy into the case, with one concern regarding the CPU Power connectors from the motherboard. This is more of a limitation of the H500 case, but the top of case fan was mildly in the way of the CPU2 connector, needed if you want to overclock your CPU (if you are not overclocking, then you only need to plug in CPU1, or so I've read). This was an issue on first boot when there was no life in the machine upon powering on. After I reseated the CPU cables and made sure they were securely inserted, my machine finally powered on.
2nd Inconvenience was waiting for the first time boot to finish. The hardware status lights on the right are convenient, and do rotate through CPU, DRAM, VGA, and BOOT on every boot, but mine seemed to get stuck or progressed really slowly (multiple seconds) per item, which concerned me at first. Nothing appeared on my display which was plugged into my video card (I also tried directly into the mobo, but I realize now that might not have worked anyways because Ryzen high end CPUs do not have integrated graphics). After tinkering and rebooting, I found suggestions on Google to try 1 RAM stick, which immediately had an effect and allowed the BIOS to appear. I tweaked the clock speed for RAM and powered off, adding sticks incrementally up until the 3rd stick and each worked still. The 4th stick in slot B1 (I inserted going A2-B2-A1-B1 per the mobo guide) did not work at first, the BIOS held up and the status lights hung on VGA or CPU. Eventually though, after a few reboot attempts, the 4th stick finally worked. I'm not sure if reseating the stick at some point was the fix or if the motherboard just needed quite a few minutes to process all of the hardware, but now it works without issue.
tl;dr - wait many minutes for the first time boot to work, even try 1 RAM stick at a time until it registers everything appropriately
Finally, if you have a TPM chip like I got, be sure it is a 14-1 pin chip, at least TPM 2.0, and enable TPM in the BIOS before attempting to use Bitlocker on it. Once I enabled TPM in BIOS, the motherboard detected the chip on reboot and Windows has successfully used it. Whether Windows behaves with it post-encryption is another matter, as TPMs can be volatile on how effective they behave when they are not built into computers like on laptops.

The only downside I could find on the board is the placement and or design of the M.2 slot which could overheat, being so close under the video card slot with out adequate case fan ventilation. Seems to do well since I installed an ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro 1TB and stays around 40C while browsing. I also went with a older style case, the HAF 912 which has a removable hard drive cage for increased air flow which is good for the upgrades I made such as the video card (RX 590) and CPU (Ryzen 7 2700x) that I used for this build. Has solid RGB on the board but not overkill while having support for more lighting if u like a show off build. The Pro Carbon was easy to install and a great board overall!
Top reviews from other countries
The LED lights on the board probably wouldn't do much on a black case but I have it installed in a white case and the edge lighting along the right side looks pretty decent.
As far as stability goes, I have done overclock tests, had perfect xmp profiles pre setup so I have had 0 issues. I am using with a Ryzen 7 3800x and been no issues.
I did how ever prep the board before installing everything by using the Bios Flash button and the latest firmware.
This is my first board with a bios flash option with out having anything installed and it was nice for peace of mind to get the latest firmware installed before starting the build. I would recommend this step as older firmwares may not be compatible with your processor.
Blluetooth and Wifi performance are fantastic. No issues just make sure to install the antennas on the back.
I installed them for Bluetooth as I hard wire my computers anyways. Yes you need the antennas on for good bluetooth performance.
All and all very very happy with the price of this motherboard and the value I am getting from it.
