    Once managing to fab up and apply a temp reducing bushing adapter for a fairly close fitment to the bench grinders arbor... it functioned as described. Ordering an actual reducing bushing for a exact fit.
    But as another alternative discovered the use of 3 Pex 1/2" crimp o-rings provided a fairly close temp adaptation.. ID is fine ...OD is just a smidge shy of being exact. But with proper tightening of mounting washers... no wobbles. ;-)
