this toaster is a complete failure!! None of the features work. The toast doesn't pop up when done. Mine came out charred to a black crisp. The eject button doesn't work. Once I had to pull the plug to get the lever to release the toast.
And the company wanted a video with all the faults to consider a refund and still I didn't get one and am stuck with a complete dud!

Uneven browning

No matter where you insert it, the bread comes out with some parts toasted, but not the whole slice. We set it much lower than needed and flip the slices for a second toasting to get somewhat even browning. The heat strips are not evenly installed, so there is no way it could ever brown evenly. We do like the defrost function since we keep our breads frozen. We use several sizes, so the wide slot is a must.

LONG SLOTS HIGH WATTAGE UNEVEN TOASTING

Really, I think the title tells you everything you need to know. Because of high wattage and my questionable electrical house system, I had to move my toaster. In my preferred location, it repeatedly tripped the extension cord which they don’t recommend. As you can see from the photos, the bread is unevenly toasted. I am not concerned with this. I recommend setting the toaster on a low number to start and then adjust as needed. The toast in the photo was set on about 2 1/2. Believe me, I have read tons of reviews and just sent another toaster back yesterday. I always get sourdough bread so wanted the long slots. I also tried Texas toast in it too so I’m sure bagels will work. I found this online at the big box store but shipping made it more expensive. It seems no toaster is perfect. Even ones for 3 times the money weren’t perfect for some people. I miss my nuwave pot oven and grill since the head burnt out which caused me to get a toaster as it was cheaper. I will use the uneven toast to my advantage. After toasting, I will use the browned size up, apply olive oil, and make pizza in my convection oven. The toasted topside will keep the toppings from getting soggy.

I wanted a toaster with lateral facing controls, levers on the sides, this one fits the requirements. Knob set at 4 (~2 minutes 40 seconds) toasted sliced bread just right. Like all toasters I'd used, the center facing side is a bit darker than the outside. Turn the knob and press the bagel button would switch on only the center heaters and add about 30 seconds toasting time. The crumb tray can be slid off completely to clean. I will find use for the rack later. I did a few dry runs to get rid of the "factory" smell before use. Overall, I am quite satisfied with the purchase. We'll see about longevity.

I chose this toaster because of the positive review and high ratings. It does not meet those supposed standards. Pop in two English muffins and wait and wait, it only heats and dries them, no toasting effect and boy is it slow! It will toast thin slices of bread, but again, it is slow.
