    A solid TV speaker upgrade.
    I like JBL products, own a few, so figured I needed a sound bar for my bedroom TV, and this one came up amongst a few others. BOSE has a similar unit also but pricing was a variable for meCame in within a week. Realized I wanted to mount it to my TV bedroom table because the top area was already a bit cluttered. Reviewed the install manual, glad it came with a mount stencil so you can exactly drill the screw (anchor) holes exactly. Measured, drilled, and mounted, no problems there.Recommend using the attached ARC HDMI cable as it allows your existing TV remote to control the sound bar; you won't need the extra remote that comes with the JBL Sound bar. Once you plug the ARC HDMI and power cable, you are good to go.Select your TV sound settings on the TV settings menu, and select the ARC HDMI port connector. It will pick up that you have a sound bar installed. Sound quality, a solid improvement from the basic TV speakers, the bass, treble, and overall mix is good, I dialed it up to 100, listened to a DT You TUBE video, and the overall mix was good, bass especially. Listened to a few other samples, movies, Blu-ray DVDs, like Top Gun, and it was a good overall mix, with good highs, mids, and bass. TV speakers sucked at bass frequencies compared to this.Now, this is not a home theater setup, there is no powered subwoofer included, floor type, so you cannot expect this unit to beat a sound bar plus subwoofer plus peripheral speakers to deliver badass sound clarity and awesome performance.It is what it is, a great upgrade for your basic flat screen TV provided speakers with excellent performance on that range. Paired with a JBL WiFi sub-woofer floor unit I believe it will rock your socks off.For the price, I got what I paid for.

    This sound bar has been awesome. I also love that I’ve been able to adjust my sound bar volume level with my tv remote with the soundboard hooked up to HDMI ARC. It cuts out occasionally and the sound will blast up for reasons I have not yet figured out, but I’m confident it’s user error and not the sound bar. I also love that I can change it to Bluetooth with the click of a button.

    This bar sounds great. I use it for my Home office. I needed a good sound with a low profile speaker and toyed with the idea of monitors but then auditioned this and waited for a deal on Amazon. Luckily they had a deal and for that price its great value for money. Dont expect a wide soundstage. I use a Sonos 5.1 setup for my living room music and TV. But if you want a puny system that sounds great this is it. The Bass output for this speaker is really loud for the size of the bar. Highly recommended for gaming and for sound for watching YouTube videos on PC

    Updated after 3 months - now listening to music on Spotify and the sound is awesome! Just can't believe this is a 2.0 sound bar. The value is astounding for this price. The bass is deep for this size. Crystal clear highs. Voice is clear not muddled.

    My wife and I decided to get a new TV/sound bar system for our bedroom. A 32-inch TV is the right size for our room (we bought a Samsung 32N5300), and due to the layout of the room, we decided to get a floor-standing TV mount with castors (kind of a TV cart) that we could reposition for the various viewing areas of the room. We thought long and hard about improving the audio over that of the TV's speakers.

Here's why: it is compact and it looks good with the 32-inch TV, it is mountable on our TV cart using sound bar brackets (we bought ones from Sanus), it sounds good, we did not want the sound bar to cost more than the TV (under $200), and the TV and sound bar is controllable with the remote control from our DVR (in our case, a TiVo Bolt). For this last requirement, I looked for sound bars with an HDMI-ARC input. This allows a remote that controls the TV (the TiVo remote) to also control the volume and power of the sound bar. It turned out that our old TV was also a Samsung and the TiVo remote worked right away with the new set up.

    Mounting the sound bar: I had to go to the hardware store to buy longer screws and washers. JBL assumes that the sound bar will either be placed on a table or mounted to a wall, not attached to a TV mount with a bracket. The sound bar comes with pre-threaded holes for mounting, and little wall brackets, but the screws provided were too short for the mount. The screws that came with the TV mount and sound bar bracket were too long. I bought M4 screws, 10 mm long and washers that worked.

    TV sound: a distinct improvement over the TV's speakers. There is not a lot of deep bass, but on this TV, we watch talk shows, cooking shows, and home improvement shows with a lot of dialog. To our ears, we can hear the talking clearly and the quality is very good for that purpose. If we want to watch a movie or listen to music, we go to the living room home theater system.

    HDMI-ARC: the JBL connects via HDMI cable to the Samsung's HDMI-ARC (CEC) port. The Samsung's other HDMI input is connected to the TiVo. What I found was that at random times after turning the system on, the audio from the JBL was badly distorted and unlistenable while sound from the TV's speakers was fine. After about a week of use, the distortion got more persistent. Using different HDMI cables didn't solve the problem. I was about to switch to using optical audio cable method, but in one final attempt with the HDMI, I did a factory reset of the JBL. I also changed the audio output of the Samsung from Dolby Digital to PCM. (The JBL's Owners Manual has a Dolby logo on it, so it should have accepted what the Samsung was sending to it.) However, the distortion went away after I did those things.

    Conclusion: once we got our TV/sound bar rig set up and worked through the distortion issue, we are happy with the JBL 2.0. It looks great mounted under the TV as we wheel it around the room, the audio is clear and enjoyable, and the TiVo remote controls it all.

    Finally decided to order a sound bar for the tv, since the baby einsteins that designed my tv placed the speaker in the back, (facing the wall). I found myself having to turn sub-titles on to follow some shows. This has taken care of the issue! very good balanced sound, super easy to install, 1 hdmi cable, 1 electrical cord, and you're done.

    This JBL Bar 2.0 sounds OK when it works but I ended up spending more time trying to connect to it than I did using over many many weeks of Actual Real Life Use like using your Computer, TV, Mini PC, Phone and pairing it up with this JBL Bar 2.0 via Bluetooth. When you need sound RIGHT NOW, which I'm sure everyone buying this expects this product FAILS 0/5 Stars.

    When you pause a video or alt tab out of a game and it's quiet this crappy product Auto Shuts Itself OFF without anyway for you to disable or edit the Auto Shut Off timer so if you've gone to the bathroom for a bit or going to the kitchen for a snack or something and come back NOPE doesn't work anymore, have to Turn it back on and reconnect and pray it works. The Source button which lets you switch between Bluetooth and wired audio is SLOW, difficult to tell if it switched over because of how slow unresponsive it is.

    I think I spent enough time on this 0/5 Star Piece of Trash, I can't even give it away as gift because nobody wants to have a lengthy paperweight that barely works and takes up too much space. I had 4 ppl literally try this JBL Bar 2.0 with their phones/tablets and it took them too long to get sound working, JBL dropped the ball on this and this product should be illegal to sell.

    I was attracted by the low price and relatively good reviews on What HiFi website. It is a budget sound bar and you can tell that straight after taking it out from the box. It is small, compact, good looking and it doesn't break the bank, but this is pretty much where the good comments end! The power cord and the HDMI cable provided are both very short. This makes connection to the TV difficult and limited in terms of positioning the speaker. My TV is wall mounted and the power cable of the speaker is too short to reach to the socket, if I want to position it under the tv with the brackets (provided). If I keep the speaker lower (which I don't want to) and further away from the TV, then I need a longer HDMI cable. So, I ended up buying both - longer HDMI cable and power cord (I didn't want to use extension lead because they are chunky and ugly), just to achieve the set up I wanted. Once you overcome these tiny but annoying issues and probably spend extra money, then is pretty strait forward and easy to connect. Sound quality and volume power are also not very impressive, but I was kind of expecting that at this price range.
    The verdict: If you are looking for a budget speaker to improve the sound quality of your older model TV , then this one is perfect. If you already have a decent quality stereo TV and expect this to be an upgrade and turn your living room to a home theatre - then look somewhere else (Sonos Beam, Yamaha, Sony)
