I ordered this cute hippo for my 50 pound dog hoping it would last a little longer compared to other toys. She loved it as soon as i gave it to her, but ripped the nostrils and ears off with 5 minutes, allowing all the stuffing to get everywhere. She loved the squeaker in the toy, but also managed to get that out pretty quick. I took all the stuffing and squeaker out, just leaving the shell, which she still plays with and loves. The fabric is very durable on the body area, but the seams (like the ears and nose) are weak. Not the best toy for pretty aggressive chewers.

My 12 pound mixed breed dog is a chewer. He can be very rough on toys and a lot of them don’t last more than a few days. This toy has been great for him. It has lots of different textures and he enjoys chewing on it, fetching it, and playing tug-of-war with the tough and durable ropes. It is a pretty large toy and I was worried at first it would be too big but the way it is designed allows even small dogs to pick it up and carry it around. I have no doubt that this toy will last a lot longer than many of the other dog toys I have purchased. Definitely recommend.

It's a little bigger than expected but still small enough for my 10lb puppy to chew on! And it's very durable. She chews through anything and everything and this toy is still in perfect condition months later (seriously, every toy I buy her ends up either eviscerated, decapitated, or both.) The knots are super sturdy and perfect for a tug of war. The crinkle paper in the tail is a fun little bonus for her. Easily machine washable as well.
Note: I will say it's possible her size makes it harder for her to rip this toy apart, but the fabric and construction seem generally pretty strong!
