My original review of this product is still listed below. However, I felt I needed to update it to include the unexpected, yet absolutely incredible customer service I received from this company!
I wrote my original review basically to say that the camera is awesome and takes incredible pictures, but there were some connectivity issues. The company’s response was to contact me directly and offer me a free replacement camera, without requiring me to return the original one, and to give me a refund for the purchase of the original. Surprise 😳, and shock were my response. Not only that, but they continued to communicate with me to make sure I was satisfied. I would recommend any company that supports and stands by their product as well as this one has, and I will do business with them again if I ever need one of their products.
Original Review:
This camera/microscope works wonderful, as long as it is working. The only issue I have with this camera is that it freezes after about 3-4 pictures are taken, and there’s nothing that I have found to prevent this, or to even know how many pictures you’ll get before it happens. It happens 100% of the time I use it. I finally get it connected to see on my phone, focus in, take 2 pics, and frozen screen again. SOMETIMES you can disconnect it from the phones wifi, turn it completely off, close the app completely (not in standby, but completely closed), then try to reconnect again. This only works about 50% of the time though. You normally just need to be glad you got 2-3 pics, then try again in a few hours or the next day. Quality is worth the money paid, even the intermittent nature is almost worth the cost, but it’s really a hassle most of the time just to get it to work properly.
I haven’t been able to use the new camera that I was given, so I can’t update the original review yet, but I will try to remember to change it if the new camera doesn’t have the issues the original one did. Again, I would like to point out that the camera is easy to use, and takes incredibly detailed microscopic pictures and is worth the price paid!

How to use the focus/magnification dial to focus:
When you place the scope very close to the object(0-40mm), then as you rotate the wheel, you will adjust the focus and power. First, a lower power will come into focus. When using the phone app(only for phone use), you can then use the zoom feature to increase the power up to an additional 2x. Keeping the scope steady when focusing or taking a picture.

The app and WiFi connection are great - simple, no frills, they just work. Switching my wife back and forth is less annoying than I thought it would be. Worked right out of the box, so came with a pre-charge!Resolution of the pics looks better when live on screen than in the pics it takes. I might try screen-shotting that instead of clicking the in app camera button or the button on the scope itself.The zoom/focus wheel can be a little tight to turn, but does work well. The digital zoom buttons are basically useless, though, since you lose more resolution when you use them. I took some photos of the molt of one of my jumping spiders and used it to learn the sex of the other, and both were satisfactory.I think the only “big” issue I have is that it is a little flimsy. It fell from my bed to my carpeted floor and the two halves split apart a little. It doesn’t impact the use, but I think that’s what made the focus wheel harder to turn.Overall, good for the price and I’d definitely buy again and recommend to others!

I bought this to use with my houseplants during my inspections of their structures, primarily to check for pests. I am so impressed with the image quality and it was so simple to set up and use. It has many other uses that I have been experimenting with and just love it. My eyesight isn't as good as it used to be so this is an essential tool in my arsenal. Very happy with it.

The zoom/focus wheel can be a little tight to turn, but does work well. The digital zoom buttons are basically useless, though, since you lose more resolution when you use them. I took some photos of the molt of one of my jumping spiders and used it to learn the sex of the other, and both were satisfactory.
I think the only “big” issue I have is that it is a little flimsy. It fell from my bed to my carpeted floor and the two halves split apart a little. It doesn’t impact the use, but I think that’s what made the focus wheel harder to turn.

One thing that may not be obvious are two buttons on the bottom of the unit that increase or decrease magnification....very helpful.
It's great to be able to capture pictures or videos on a phone or tablet while examining the trichomes, although I wish the button were placed closer to the front of the unit. It's hard to keep the image focused while fumbling for the button.
Apart from that, though, it works really well and I highly recommend it to any grower.
