I have a 12" shelf and I'm glad I got the 10" square ones, 5 gal. Because if I got the 12" ones they would not of fit. They want to round when you fill them with soil, you have to keep pushing on the sides to try and make them square. But they do hold a lot more soil then the round ones and fill the shelf a lot better too.
