Can love secure Adrian’s wandering heart?

Roots are overrated, at least to someone like Adrian Stewart, preacher’s kid, who has never lived anywhere longer than six years. That’s why her job with MidUSLogIn Inc., is so perfect for her—lots of travel, and staying nowhere long enough to have it feel like home. But when work takes her to Memphis, closer to her family for the first time in years and in the same small office as Grayson Roberts, she starts to question her job, her lack of home, and even her memories of her rocky past with the church.

Gray is intrigued by Adrian from the moment he sees her, and he’s determined to get to the bottom of why this girl, who loves old movies and hums when she works, won’t go to church with him. As they grow closer, he wants more too, but how can he convince her to stay in Memphis when she doesn’t believe in home—or God? Can he use his own broken past to break through hers?

Amy R Anguish grew up a preacher's kid, and in spite of having lived in seven different states that are all south of the Mason Dixon line, she is not a football fan. Currently, she resides in Tennessee with her husband, daughter, and son, and usually a bossy cat or two. Amy has an English degree from Freed-Hardeman University that she intends to use to glorify God, and she wants her stories to show that while Christians face real struggles, it can still work out for good.

I really loved how the characters in this book were developed. You can tell Amy knows and loves TN because she makes it easy to see the places she describes. I also love the reality of this situation. If you’ve been a PK kid, you just know.

Amy Anguish did it again. No Place Like Home is a winner. I had a very hard time putting it down. She writes so you think of the characters as real people in real situations. Adrian's story is written in a way that you can follow and relate to. We've all had her thoughts and feelings towards our Gray. If you've had strained relationships with your family, you can understand what she was going through and how much courage and strength it took to go home and be open with her dad. I love the line, "Just because something bad happens, doesn't mean something good can't come from it".

Amy never disappoints us with her books. This one is no exception. The story between Adrian and Gray is captivating leaving you wondering how their relationship will end. But beyond that is the awesome way that Amy captivates you when it comes to the relationship of Adrian trying to find her way back to God. This book is a must read and a must share with those around you. Thank you Amy for touching our hearts.

Another good contemporary inspirational romance from Amy Anguish, I recommend No Place Like Home to all of you who enjoy this genre. Sometimes we make decisions based on only our own perspective, like Adrian does. She puts up walls to close personal relationships and God because she decides she's been betrayed by the people she trusted. It's obvious that God doesn't care. Then she meets Grayson Roberts, whose persistence and authenticity breaks through her wall. She assumes that Gray has had perfect life until she hears his story. Then events unfold in her life to reveal the truth about herself, and she opens her heart to love and finding home.

Preacher's kid, Adrian has had a difficult time feeling at home in any of the locations her family has moved to over the years. She doesn't understand why her twin sister has been able to adjust so much better. Now that she's an adult, she has decided that putting down roots is too hard, too disappointing. I loved reading how meeting a fascinating man changed her life. God uses people to reach out in so many ways, if we allow Him to. This author does a great job of keeping this sweet romance moving, and always keeping it real.

As a preacher’s kid and pastor’s wife I loved the fact that this story shows what can be the hard times for families in pastoral ministries. At times, it feels like people don’t see them as people like everyone else. But the author also did a great job showing that different people are going to react in different ways to the same events. Add in the sweet romance between the main characters, and you’ve got an entertaining story with meaning for all of us. I received an ARC of this book. The opinions and reviews are my own.
