The name “Iroshizuku” is a combination of the Japanese words “Iro" (coloring), expressing high standards and variation of colors, and “Shizuku" (droplet), that embodies the very image of dripping water. Each ink name derives from the expressions of beautiful Japanese natural landscapes and plants, all of which contribute to the depth of each individual hue. |

The nib and feeder are excellent; it writes perfectly on the first go, even after days of disuse. The nib does get a little messy as certain inks dribble out, but nothing to worry about; it still looks great and functions fantastically. While it's not the smoothest nib I've ever used, for $15, it's pretty remarkable. Writing flows, but with some scratchiness, depending on the angle. Again, the nib and feeder have never failed to write for me on the first go, making this a very reliable fountain pen.
My niggle would have to be the converter. It's simple enough to use, but the bladder feels so, so cheap and flimsy. You also can't tell how much ink is actually in there, so you can't tell if you're refilling it right. The metal bracing around the bladder offers some structural integrity, but really only serves to get in the way when you're trying to squeeze. I just ordered a CON-20 converter, so we'll see how that goes. Otherwise, refilling this pen is pretty straightforward and simple. Also, I honestly wouldn't have minded paying $5 or so more for an iridium-tipped or nicer nib.
This is a great workhorse fountain pen, perfect for every day use. While it won't outright beat the simplicity, reliability, and efficiency of a ballpoint pen, this is a surprisingly excellent starter or everyday fountain pen. Definitely ordering some more and gifting them!
Why do I love this Pilot pen?
1. Feel: It is solid and well balanced
2. Beauty: True, that's "in the eye of the beholder", but for me, it's sleek, classic look and black with silver accents is perfect
3. Ink Management: Come's preloaded with refillable, sqeezable, ink bladder style cartridge. Very nice. + Includes 1 ink cartridge.
4. Writing: Prior to buying this pen, I typically bought less expensive, standard pens in the $5 - $10 range. I was happy enough with those to use them for years. What a fool I've been. For just slightly more money, I now have a tool that blows the others away. I can't compare this pen to the top end models costing hundreds$, but I can tell you that writing with the Pilot is effortless and fun. There is no drag or scraping on the page, the ink starts first time, every time, and I have yet to experience even one skip in my writing, which is almost always script and most often in a cheap $2 composition book.
5. Ink: I did buy nice ink to use with this pen. Noodler's Black Waterproof Fountain Pen Ink - Bulletproof. Highly recommended.
6. Packaging: Comes in a nice, oval, foam fitted case with clear window for storage. Cheap, but effective.
7. Cost: Wow! I'm still amazed that this pen only cost me around $16. Great value. I lose and break things on a very regular basis, so as sad as I'll be when this one goes missing, I won't miss a rent payment in order to buy another
My only "Con" might be the rigid area that transitions from the front to the body of the pen where my hand rests while writing. I generally prefer a smoother surface. However, overall it is not distracting and the advantage may be that I experience less slippage as my hand occasionally sweats during long sessions.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PEN.

Pilot is best !!!
Reviewed in Canada on May 3, 2020
I plan to buy this pen for valued clients.
With blue-black ink, I'm already getting looks of envy.
The nib is smooth and produces a fine line. It will flow-hard if you apply pressure.
The converter is included (squeeze type), and easy to use. I prefer a see-through piston, but no issues.
Minor criticisms would be
1) the cap has to be snuggly fit on the barrel if, like me, you like to write with the cap on the barrel. I found it tends to pop off - but I'm used to this and it's not the only pen prone to this.
2) After purchasing I found out a replacement nib is not available. I understand that the pen is so inexpensive this is likely not a concern, but I don't quite get the logic. (I was inspired to inquire when I let my 11yo try it the first day I had it, and he promptly dropped it on its nib. The pen "cricketed" for a day, but with writing lost its click and is now completely fine.)
