I had this book when I was little, and bought it for my kids, then my cousin's children. It's a funny rhyming book about Ox that has rocks stuck in his socks and asks his friend Fox to help him out.

I bought this book as a gift for a couple to start a library for their newborn. I would get this book from the library repeatedly to read to my children. It is humorous. It has rhymes throughout. A great book. I cannot promote it enough. I did not know that I could find it but thank you Amazon.

I love this book. I have many memories of my Dad reading this to me when I was little. Now that I have a daughter this was one of books that was essential for her library.

It's a story of a silly ox who gets into a complicated predicament trying to get rocks out of his socks by the suggestions of the fox. The rhyming and meter are predictable, which is priceless when reading to a toddler. Eventually the bird comes to give better advice to save the ox.

The book has seen better days, but that was the understanding when I purchased it. I loved this book when I was a kid and I'm so happy I can pass it along to my babies. I'm very happy with my purchase.

I grew up reading this book, and finally had to get it for myself. I am studying to be a Speech Language Pathologist, and felt this book would be great for a literacy unit for preschool-3rd grade age children. It has so many elements of language that are vital for children to learn at that age, like rhyming. I have always loved the illustrations, and the dialogue between the fox and the ox. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good and silly children's book.
