To make holders for pierced earrings, so none of this prevented me for using it for my intended Purpose.
The prices was okay for what I needed, but not sure I would recommend it for needlework of any size.
This stuff is notably more expensive than Aida, so it's not everyday stitching material. And you need to be a bit careful how thick your needle and stitching materials are. (For example, when I tried to just put six-strand embroidery floss through, it would only fit through once. The larger stitches on this case are made by folding over three strands of embroidery floss and working it double.) Also, it is notably thinner and less sturdy than 7-mesh (normal type) plastic canvas, so I would not give this pencil box to a younger child. But this stuff has some real potential, if you remember its unique properties.
Here I have constructed an extremely detailed pencil/pen case, using the techniques typically used for plastic canvas projects. The closure up top is made of magnetic handbag snaps. The stitches are counted-stitch patterns like brick stitch (gray-green), diamond straight stitch (yellow-green and dark green), mosaic stitch (pink), plaited gobelin stitch (blue), and captive rice stitch (orange/yellow). The edges are held together by stitching overcast stitch twice, first in one direction and then the other.
