Best lil Day Pack

Best lil Day Pack
I cannot say enough good things about this pack. I thought a 9 liter would be too small for some of my longer day excursions but I was so wrong. It’s been with me on two mile hikes without it feeling like overkill, and it’s carried enough for a 16 mile hike. You can really fit a lot into this thing, and the elastics on the front allows you roll up clothes and pack, or anything else you couldn’t fit inside zippered sections. I normally wrap up my Canon EOSR6 into a puffer jacket and stuff that in the bottom, can still fit my 70 oz water bladder, snacks, first aid kit, and a change of clothes. The hip belt is crucial for me, and the additional pockets are so useful. In a pack this size, it’s about the small details. There’s a spot for trekking poles on the left shoulder strap, and an emergency whistle built into the chest strap buckle. As always, Osprey killed it with the internal frame and mesh to keep the pack off of your back and keep your back nice and cool.

I debated between Tempest 9 and Raven 14... After MUCH deliberation, I ultimately kept the Tempest 9. It’s a little bit lighter than than the Raven. I’d mostly be using it for day-hiking trips. But I could easily use it for biking, too. My selling point was the little pocket in the left shoulder strap. I am using it to stuff the hydration pack nozzle into it when I’m not using it. There’s no cover on the nozzle and it would be exposed to dust, etc. it doesn’t have as many pockets as the Raven 14, but enough to organize keys, glasses, snacks, etc. Also, the bungee netting stretches to hold bulky sweaters/lightweight jackets/layers of clothing if the inside space fills up. I really like this pack a lot. FYI- It doesn’t come with the hydration pack.

I’m 5-3, 118 lbs, I ordered the s/m. I also lengthened the shoulder straps and it fit my broad shouldered husband (just in case I don’t feel like carrying a pack.)

Love this backpack. Very lightweight and can hold a lot of gear. Took it on a ten mile hike and it was very comfortable. The separate hydration pocket is great. I bought this to replace a very cheap one I’ve had for ten years. What an upgrade! The air circulation on the back of the pack pack really helped with “sweaty back syndrome”. I didn’t have any issue that other people seemed to have with it digging into my back. I will say some of the pockets aren’t in great spots. Wish the pockets on the belt were a little bigger so I could fit my cell phone in there.

Great pack, but the small is small! It's not enough room for me even as a summit pack. This will go to my young granddaughter to use this summer. Overall, a great pack for a short hike.

I’m obsessed with my backpack!!! It fits perfectly. Not too big where it looks like it’s taking over, and it’s not too small. It’s perfect for day hikes, bike rides, roller blades, you name it!

It’s so well made and the quality policy cannot be best. I’m extremly happy with this purchase. I’m 120lb 5’7 and this size backpack is perfect. 5 Stars I definitely recommend. What really sold me are the hip straps extra support, and the side pockets on the hip straps and the pouches.

This little day pack is amazing. I had planned to spend under $50 for a day pack but I saw this one on Amazon and decided to splurge. I have no regrets. This is perfect for the kind of day hiking I do. It's lightweight, not bulky, holds itself off my back, and carries the stuff I need. I typically carry a water bottle, a lightweight jacket, knife, snacks, cell phone, lip balm, and in cold weather gloves and a hat. Everyone who hikes with me wants one. I feel certain it will be the last day pack I need to purchase.
