Nice compass. Not many people use these anymore. I have taught my grand sons how to use a compass and we have fun with them. Accuracy is good, but I find the cursor is a bit loose. making magnetic declination adjustments a bit more difficult than they should be. At this price, it is a very good buy.

I got this for my stepson for Christmas. He’s moderately interested in survival and bushcraft. I knew he didn’t have one. Looked for one with high reviews and decided on this. It’s heavy and has some really cool features that neither I nor my husband have seen. However, the bezel is super lose. I wonder if you were in a situation where you’d actually need to use it, is this going to be a problem? My husband noticed right away and pointed this out to me. And ya, come to think of it I remember a bezel usually has quite a bit of resistance so that your readings are consistent as you move about. I will do a little research and see if there is a screw I can tighten somewhere and adjust this. For reference, both my husband and I are military. I’m a supporter, and don’t use my topo skills like ever, unless I was on a course or something. My husband on the other hand has 20 years, and though he’s a desk and office guy now, these skills were pretty well hammered in. Bottom line, definitely doesn’t seem cheap, the simple case is a nice touch, and it has loads of nifty things like the viewing feature.

It points North. I dropped it, didn't bother it any. Came well packaged.
Fit and finish is decent enough. Durant look or feel cheap in hand. No sharp edges or anything junky about it. Haven't really used it for orienteering so I can't speak to it's accuracy over considerable mileage through the back country. But it's more reliably accurate than my Samsung Galaxy S10+ phone apps are when within Bell's 4G LTE network range.

This compass is worth the price. It's made out of metal. There are some plastic pieces. It's heavy. Its a good compass for a beginner, or a toy for a child. Do not bet your life on it! If you are serious about backcountry navigation, spend the extra money and get yourself a real compass.
