2.0 out of 5 stars Dauer-Quengler, als Herzmonitor untauglich

I needed to find a cheap tracker to keep count of steps and stairs climbed, fortunately this Garmin tracker keeps me recording steps and stairs when I can't wear my Garmin Vivo active 4.
Additional bonus is they sync perfectly when they are brought back together at the end of the day. Long battery life too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use but NOT MADE FOR INDIA

I used Fitbit Charge for more than 1.5 years so my comparison of wearables is limited to using this and the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3.

When I got the Garmin, I was interested in it because I know that Garmin makes great sensors and products for runners. However, their running watches were far more expensive and bulkier. I wanted something that was lightweight, easy to use and cheap. The Vivosmart ticked all those boxes well.

The setup was a bit confusing - to be honest, Fitbit does a better job here. The charging is a bit clumsy as it takes time to get used to fixing it correctly. It also takes more time to charge than the Fitbit.

However, Garmin scores well on all the detailed analytics it shows. It seems to be better than Fitbit on that front. The auto-recognition worked well. Also, it doesn't take a car ride as a bicycle ride. Sleep tracking and other features work well but it doesn't seem to recognize short naps in the afternoon at all. The Abnormal heartbeat feature while interesting actually induced more stress in me by vibrating vigorously. Overall, the interface has far too many options and it's easy to get confused and lost. I wish they did a better job with the UI.

Overall: I preferred my Garmin to the Fitbit and would recommend it for casual exercising: step counts, running, floor climbing. For advanced runners and athletes, you should probably consider a more high-end watch.

EDIT: The sleep tracking wasn't very accurate. However, the auto-exercise recognition was great. Overall it feels more accurate. My biggest SORE POINT - the strap broke before a year and Garmin doesn't even include India in the list of countries where it issues a replacement. So if you are based in India, don't bother with this product. They don't care about you.

Garmin smartwatch is exactly what I needed. Small in size which is hard to come by. I have small wrist and hands and every other watch I have purchased
