The beautiful design, and short stature make it well suited as a pour over. Its wide base makes it well-suited as an espresso carafer, and fits perfectly with a hario v2 funnel. It's well made and fits the Stagg XF brewer perfectly, and holds a 900-gram pour from a Chemex.

Customers are mixed about the cleanability of the pitcher. Some mention that it cleans easily, while others say that the vessel, even inside the lid, is impossible to clean properly. The lid does not clean easily, with coffee build up remaining in the lids interior. Secondly, there is no way to clean the path where the coffee flows through the lid. This makes both serving and cleaning an awkward chore. The shape makes it hard to clean and it takes forever to air dry. The top itself cannot be opened for cleaning, so you have no idea what is going on inside.

Pros
- Retains heat very well
- Easy to use with standard pour over set-up (ceramic filter holder).
- Great partner to my Chemex...I pour my first cup into my mug, then the rest goes in the Hario
- Carafe is easy to clean.
- Push button pour feature provides a solid seal and is easy to use.
- No drips down the side for me!
Cons
- Lid takes some getting used to for screwing on...but once you get the alignment right it works every time.
- Rubber seal ring might be trouble in the future if I want to get in there and really clean it. I'm nervous to pull it apart as I'm not sure I can get it back together.
- You do have to close the stopper before you finish pouring, in order to get the last bits out of the top of the carafe. But not a big deal.
Effective thermal insulation
Good pour (no drips if used correctly - tip, depress button, begin pour, release button, allow to finish pour, un-tip)
Hario ceramic dripper sits nicely atop (with lid removed of course)
Clean design, with nice matt black finish
Cons:
None yet...
I make 500ml of coffee in the morning and drink it over a few hours. Previously, I used a glass server under the dripper and transferred to a insulated thermos. Now, I drip directly into the HARIO Double Vacuum Structure and screw on the cap. Coffee stays as hot, and it pours better. Using the structure reduces the number of vessels used, thereby simplifying the process, saving energy/hot water used to warm an the thermos and decreasing clean-up. The structure feels sturdy, so there is less risk of breakage (which was the impetus for buying in the first place).
I give my resounding endorsement.

I've had this server for about 6 months now, and my biggest gripe is that over time, liquid will get caught between the plastic top with the handle and the outside of the stainless base it is screwed on. If you shake the server, you can hear the the tiny amount of liquid trapped there, and it will drip out on the outside of the server from time to time. I suspect this occurs during washing, and I haven't figured out how to clean it. The plastic top doesn't appear to be removable. That said, it is more annoying than anything else, and I still like using this server.
For heat retention, I've let it sit for 2-3 hours a few times and it is steaming hot when poured but after adding an ounce or two of cold milk it needs a few seconds in the nuker. I have other thermos branded products that stay piping hot for 6-8 hours, so this was a disappointment. Normally I don't wait that long between cups so it shouldn't be an issue for me, but if you're thinking this device would be a good way to keep coffee hot all day, look elsewhere. Due to it's small capacity and odd shape I don't think many people will be transporting this around or using it on an outdoor job site or anything. If you want to make a cup of coffee and have your refill still hot 30-60 min later this is for you!
For some reason the red one was $10 cheaper than any other color when I ordered, it's 600ml which is about 27 ounces. I paired it with the stainless steel hario v2 and the hario brand unbleached cone filters. All in all they make a great tasting cup of coffee and I have no complaints about the combo of these hario products working together. If you need an unbreakable coffee setup for work or camping, this is the way to go imho.
