I've been using my Vitamix 780 for a few months now and I've found it to be a great addition to my kitchen. I typically do not mix anything that requires such a workhorse of a blender but I like knowing it's there if I need it. I use it every single day for blending smoothies and it handles frozen fruit and ice like it was cutting through hot butter and even has a setting or self cleaning. I've bought blenders in the past that didn't handle ice or frozen fruit very well, especially not at the same time so I'm glad to have a blender where I don't have to worry about burning out the motor just making a smoothie.

I also love the consistency of my smoothies when mixed in this blender. I can shove a ton of vegetables nearly whole into this thing (although I do normally at least cut them in half just to get more in) and the Vitamix has no problem turning them into an actual smoothie and not just cutting them up. You know the consistency of the smoothies you get from smoothie shops? Yeah, that's the kind of consistency your smoothies will have after being mixed in the Vitamix. For me there is no other blender that can compare to the performance of the Vitamix.

I bought this brand new blender from Premier Home Essentials. After 2 months it broke completely. The turning mechanism sheered off. This was during the summer. The only things being blended were fresh fruit and ice with other liquid ingredients. When I contacted Vitamix with suggestions, they asked me for the serial number. They then informed me that my brand new Vitamix was in fact over 2 years old. The lady from Vitamix said "This is why I don't purchase from 3rd party vendors. Your blender probably sat in a hot warehouse for 2 years and the plastic around the mechanism fatigued."

I returned the item to Premier Home Essentials. They informed me they would not refund my money since it was outside of the return period. They also accused me of trying to return an item I had purchased from someone else 2 years earlier. They essentially accused me of committing fraud. They also said I'd have to buy a shipping label and send it to them if I wanted my broken blender back.

Thankfully Amazon's custom service recognized this travesty for what it is. Poor warehouse/stock management and atrocious customer service on the part of Premier Home Essentials.

Bravo Amazon.
Bravo Vitamix.

I'll be buying another Vitamix either directly from Amazon or Vitamix themselves. I will never purchase a single thing from Premier Home Essentials ever again.,

Previosly I tried just about every blender out there. Ninja, Oster, Nutribullet, Blendtec, you name it. Eventaully I bought a Vitamix 5200 and never looked back. Then a house fire and I had to replace the beloved Vitamix. The Blendtec model I purchased to keep at work had preset buttons so I was looking to include this feature and I liked the smooth glass front touch screen on the 780. Cleaning it is a breeze due to the smooth glass. The container fits under the counter. It is a high-quality blender. But a few things that knock a star off. The icons on the presets are not intuitive and consequently I guess at what each one does. I tried for a while to look it up and post it nearby, lost that and so now basically don't use the presets much. I could certainly look it up to rectify that, but it would have been better if the buttons were better labeled. Also, I have found I prefer the taller container better. The short squat one just seems to have a little trouble blending as well. So had to dish out another $100 for the tall container. Boo. I also use the dry container and that works great- doesn't mill flour as well as my Mockmill 200 of course, but if you wanted to try milling flour for bread this will get the job done. Overall I like the machine, but surprisingly I liked my older model better. No matter which model of Vitamix you get it will be far superior to most any competitor. Blendtec does almost as good of a job, but not quite. Decide which features really matter to you- the motors are all the same so you are really just paying for some fluffy bells and whistles.
