Once again we are at Oakside where wounded military go for their rehabilitation and where they also find love Or in Gavin's case it is reconnect with a lost love He walked away from Lauren when he joined the military not wanting to risk hurting her even though they had been schoolyard sweethearts but in doing so he hurt her more than he could have expected Now he is at Oakhurst he has lost his sight and Lauren is his therapist. Can she get over the hurt he inflicted Can they reconnect and will they have a chance at a future together You will have to read to see

Once again this is a superb read like all the previous books in this series deeply emotional they totally draw you in make sure you do yourself a favour and read them all

Gavin a war veteran had been injured and loses his sight sending him for rehab to Oakside where he meets up with his physical therapist Lauren who is also his ex.
This is a sweet, dramatic and romantic story about forgiveness and second chances. I loved how the characters from past books have been incorporated into the story and also his son Graham as well. It was a touching story emotional and well done. Great book!!.

LOVED IT!! Absolutely adore second chance romances...Gavin and Lauren are no exception. Six years after he said goodbye, he re-enters her life in tragic circumstances. Life has surprises in store for both of them.

Kaci Rose has written another very good book. I really like the books in this series.
This was Lauren's first time working at Oakside . The new patient has lost his sight in a war attack and she was to teach him how to navigate. She would be working with the patient and his seeing eye dog.
When she walked into the room she recognized him as Gavin, her high school sweetheart who crushed her heart years ago The only man she had ever loved.
She walked back out of the room and went to Lexi's office. After some discussion, Lauren walked back into Gavin's room. Gavin asked who was there. She answered "Lauren". Gavin's whole body went stiff. He knew her voice. She was the girl he never got over. He had broke up with Lauren at the bus stop to go to Boot Camp. He thought she would be better off without him and find someone new.
Gavin and Lauren had a son but he did not know this. Lauren could not reach him while he was in the military. She wanted to tell him, but wanted to wait to see how the relationship would work out. Lauren went to Arizona to visit her parents and they were against her telling Gavin.
How will Gavin take the fact that he is a father? Will they still be together or will the news break them up? There is so much to this story that I did not cover as I don't want to spoil the book for you. I really like this story and I home you like it too. I highly recommend this book.

Up until book 5- Saving Gavin, Noah & Lexi were definitely my favorite couple, after reading Gavin & Lauren’s story they are definitely tied as being my favorite! I love a second chance romance, & throw in an injured hero & military- I’m sure to love it! And I did. Lauren & Gavin’s story was a little emotional, he ended their relationship after high school right before he left for boot camp. He was afraid of her moving on, & later we find out there were other factors that played a huge role in his decisions. Right after he left though Lauren found out she was pregnant, but after trying endlessly for months & not being able to find him, she gave up. Now 7 years later they’re reconnected because he’s her new patient at Oakside- & he’s blind.
I loved this story so much, & did not want it to end as soon as it did. This series is a must read! I can’t express how much I’m enjoying it.

Really enjoyed this story. Although Gavin and Lauren fell in love with each other when young, that love was still very strong. It broke Gavin to leave Lauren and go to boot camp, but he thought he was doing the right thing. Lauren was crushed when Gavin left, but now he's back in her life, and she has to help him. A more unique story than the last couple.

Will they find their love again. Great story!!! Highly recommend it along with all the Oakside Military Hero books, best to read them in order so that you can keep up with everyone!!!!!! Loved this book, may be my favorite, then again there’s more to come and I am so excited!!!!!
