Grips great and doesn't get moldy with common sense!
I bought this because I have young children and I didn't want them slipping around in the tub and getting hurt. I have owned it going on 7 months now. I liked that they were made of natural rubber too. I think its a great product and as long as you use common sense and maintain it by ripping it off the tub and flipping over to air dry from time to time (takes 5 secs) and clean your bath tub from time to time you shouldn't have any problems with this. If you do a vinegar soak every few months you won't have any problems at all. I just did my first 1 like 3 days ago.Everytime I rip the mats off the tub to let the bottom air dry (a job that takes all of 5 secs) I chuckle a bit and shake my head thinking of those moldy pictures on the reviews. If you want to buy a mat and lay it suctioned onto a bath tub and never make any attempts to regularly maintain it, you will always be disappointed.I bought 2 of these because one is not long enough to cover the length of the tub which is a safety concern for my kids. I just over lap them and that does the trick. You don't even need to spend the time pushing down to get a suction. They sunction quickly enough with just the kids weight. They are perfectly grippy.The picture was taken directly after giving my kid a bath which is why it looks wet.

I've had this bath mat for 13 months and am looking to buy a new one. Why? Well, it does start to show black mildew on the bottom and after awhile, it just doesn't clean off like it once did. I lift my mat every 3rd day, rinse it thoroughly and hang it to dry. Sorry, I am too lazy to do that every single day. It took quite awhile before any mildew began to show and then a once-a-month soak in about an inch of hot water in the tub with a good glug-glug-glug of bleach took care of it. Now, months later, that procedure won't completely clean it and the mat as a whole is looking a little off-color, probably as a result of the bleach. Don't get me wrong, this bath mat has a lot going for it: many suction cups hold it in place securely and yet it is very easy to lift up, unlike one I had that stuck so hard to the bottom of the tub the suction cups ripped off one by one. This is comfortable on your feet - not cushy, but comfortable, unlike another mat I had where every suction cup felt like a rock under my foot. It hasn't ripped or torn anywhere, unlike another mat I had (Rubbermaid, the kind we always used to buy) that developed holes. I also had two mats that developed pink mold within a short time. With the first, I called the company asking about the pink/red color, they assured me it was mold and sent a replacement, which turned pink within a week, So much for that. I have to say, though, I can't believe everyone is so happy with this mat when (IMHO) it is TOO SMALL. Notice the photograph - the rear of the tub is cleverly cut off so the mat looks like it fills the bottom. I want a mat that does fill (or nearly fills) the length of a normal, standard bath tub. This is 28 inches long. I suggest if you are considering buying this mat, you get a tape measure and lay it in your tub and see where 28 inches is. I know there are even smaller mats, but that's absurd. This mat could easily be 6 inches longer, and I would be more than willing to pay for more length. Ideally, a bath mat would sit 2 inches or so from the drain and cover the majority of the tub floor. I have this mat at least 4 inches from the drain and it is still way too short. I could easily step off this mat at the rear of my tub and slip. I bathe my 2-year old grandson and have to keep reminding him to stay on the mat and not step off. I have had much longer bath mats in the past and in fact, came on Amazon to see if this mat was offered in a bigger size. Sadly, it is not. I think I will have to look further and hope I can find a bath mat with the good qualities of this mat, in a longer length.
