  • Creates a smooth and consistent milk foam without electricity

How to Make Café Style Coffee from your Kitchen in Minutes:

Step 1

Fill the frother to the maximum line with cold milk, non fat or regular.

Step 2

Place the lid on the jug and close the spout to prevent spills.

Step 3

Plunge the frother up and down until desired level of froth is achieved.

If you would like warm froth, microwave on high for 30 to 50 seconds.

Be sure to remove the plunger assembly before placing the jug in the microwave.

Step 4

Spoon the milk froth out of your beaker and onto your coffee. Enjoy!

Coffee-House Style Drinks:

Cappuccino

In Italy cappuccino is served in a 6 oz. cup. The coffee is topped by a dense froth (half foam, half steamed milk) in a ratio of 3:1. Usually the drink is dusted with unsweetened cocoa.

Caffe Mocha

Caffe mocha has been served in Italian-American cafes since the 1950s. It’s a combination of equal amounts of coffee, hot chocolate and hot frothed milk. Today the hot chocolate is oftentimes substituted with chocolate syrup. For the ultimate sinners it is topped off with whipped cream.

Latte Macchiato

The coffee is slowly poured into an 8 oz. glass filled with hot, frothed milk. The coffee 'stains' the milk and creates a darker layer over the milk. Then it all gets topped off with pure white foam – making a perfect latte macchiato, a three-layer drink.

Caffe Latte

Latte is made with coffee and steamed milk in a ratio of 5:1. The coffee is topped with steamed milk then finished with steamed milk foam.

Product Description

The BODUM range line was complemented with these fantastic milk frothers. The silk plastic lid has a deep rim to prevent foam from escaping through the spout. The plunger handle has a comfortable grip and is pleasant and smooth to touch. In less than 30 seconds you can easily whip your preheated milk into the airy foam, only a BODUM milk frother can give you. After you have served your guests, you can put every part of the milk frother into the dishwasher. Instructions: 1) Fill the frother to the line (approximately 8-10 ounces) with COLD Milk (Non Fat or Regular). 2)Place the jug onto a flat surface. 3)Place the lid with the whip onto the jug. Close the pouring outlet. 4)Beat the milk by moving the plunging frother up and down. Plunge the milk about 60-90 times (you will feel the milk getting thicker). Allow the milk to rest for about 1 minute. The froth will thicken significantly during this time. If you would like warm froth, microwave on high for 30 to 50 seconds. (Be sure to remove the plunger assembly before placing the jug in the microwave) 5)Spoon the milk froth out of your frother and onto your coffee. To achieve the best froth we recommend using cold, non-fat, or low-fat milk. Enjoy.

My New Best Friend In The Coffee Business.
I've been making on a daily basis cappuccinos now for several years. I started out with all in ones that did everything from the coffee to steam frothing the milk right into the mix. I got tired of them breaking and trying to keep them fixed, so I went to everything manual. Best move ever... I use stove top mocha pots and mostly a manual frothier. While at some relatives this past year, we were going to play with coffee but they could not find their frothier. So while at a store there, I went shopping. This was the only one they had. To be honest, looking at it it didn't really trip my trigger. But after getting it to their house and giving it a go, I was shocked and how well it did, how much it made and the quality of the froth. Needless to say, when I got back home, I ordered one on Amazon. The first one came broke. I sent it back and ordered again. The second one was fine, and I've been plunging away ever since! You can pour a full 8 ounces, maybe a bit more into the container and microwave it in the container, then plunge. Cleanup is easy. The first thing I do is rinse it off, then I put a bit of dish soap in it, put some hot water in it from the tap and plunge it a couple of times. I let it set while till I'm done drinking. I re-plunge and will use some of the spare soap suds to clean everything else up before I clean this. It's quick and easy. Needless to say, I've been very pleased with this thing.

Easy to wash. We use Soy milk and it works fantastic. A tip: set your microwave to a lower setting when heating your milk. It will take a little bit longer to reach the desired temperature than on the high setting, but it is easier to control your milk from boiling. Once the milk is heated simply pump the plunger a few times until you get the degree of frothing you desire.

So I, like others am replacing a manual frother I’ve had for many years that just broke. I prefer to heat my milk in the microwave before frothing so was looking for glass. My old one had a plastic handle and base and I’m not sure why I haven’t been able to find that. I was concerned about picking one without a handle and not belong able to grab it when it is hot. I’m a bit concerned about breaking it but didn’t want to go to stainless steel so that’s how it is. Here is what I like about this one. 1.) I’m enjoying that the mixing parts are black, it’s easy to rinse off and you can see all the milk and not miss any. 2.) The glass is easy to clean. It’s a nice wide size you can get your hand into no extra tools required. 3.) It froths really well, just like a manual frother should. There is a little milk when you are done but lots of froth. I guess an electric may make bubbles out of that little bit of milk at the end but I really prefer the manual. 4.) It’s quiet. I can froth my milk every morning when the kids are still sleeping. 5.) I don’t have to find an outlet in my little kitchen to plug it in. 6.). I can froth lots of milk for my latte. The line is a cup with quite a bit of room above it. You can fill it a little higher than the line, cut just gets a little messier as the lid isn’t super tight to hold it in. 7.). It’s easy to pump the frother up and down. My old one had a tighter seal to the glass so was firmer to press. 8.) My old one had a more complicated 3 plate system for frothing that was harder to rinse out. I was worried this one might not froth as well, but the screen has tiny mesh and does a great job. It goes all the way to the bottom of the glass which I saw in some other reviews some do not. 9.). I haven’t put it in the dishwasher because it’s so easy to rinse out the parts right after using. 10.) I was also nervous that the handle looked fragile but it seems okay now that I have it. In my picture I have a full 16 oz Starbucks mug with a small espresso in the bottom and frothed eggnog on top. So yummy. I had filled the frother a little above the line and had to drink some before I could add all the froth to my cup. Eggnog seems to whip up about 3.5 times where the milk I use doubles. Enjoy!!!
