Matt shares his own experiences and has a way of writing that can take you back to a time in the 1980’s as he tantalisingly describes the famous McDermott/Whitney partnership.
That is just the tip of the iceberg, as the book is full of fantastic knowledge and stories about the great game of cricket. Definitely a great gift for the upcoming festive season.
I had prepared my car/plane listening in advance and bleary eyed I pressed play on For the Love of Cricket.
Even though I know MJE, I wasn’t sure what to expect.
Suffice to say I soon forgot the early hour and the long days of work ahead. I’m sure fellow motorists thought me a bit strange grinning broadly as I negotiated my way in the wee hours.
I was checked at the security gate - I’m sure for looking too perky for the early hour. But I couldn’t help it.
MJE you are a marvel! Your knowledge of the game of cricket, its players, its nuances, is incredible.
Being of a similar vintage to MJE, his early memories of players and games matched my own, whether it was attending in person with my dad or watching on the TV.
Thank you Matt Ellis and Matt Fiction!!! 😊
And a beautiful Foreword from Robbie!
If you’re a cricket nuff, make sure you check out this one!!!
Thank you MJE 🏏👏
