Fast forward a month to today. Was doing some organizing and had to unplug my modem. Replugged and internet working fine. All hardware that plugs directly into my switch is connected and working great with the internet connectivity EXCEPT the Q11 routers! Hard reset everything - still won't connect. Unplugged and rebooted everything. Still won't connect. LAN internet working fine - it's how I'm sending this message. The app gives no helpful tips, just tells me my internet must be down.
Customer service is nonexistent.
These are junk. If they were selling them for $10, I'd advise you still to save your money. I'm out my money as amazon won't accept the return without original packaging.
We got back from a short vacation to find out there was an internet outage while we were gone. Somehow this outage caused damage to the Q11 ethernet ports. WiFi still worked but anything hooked up to ethernet couldn't connect. Wiring devices directly to my modem ethernet port worked fine, so it was an issue with the Q11s. I contacted Motorola support, and after a week's worth of trying to get them to work, they gave up and sent me three brand new Q11s. I had to send the damaged ones back to them (as the Amazon return window had closed by this point).
I do have to state that at this point, Motorola support was awesome! They really went out of their way to help solve the problem.
I received the replacement set pretty quickly. Set up the NEW Q11s (which also had to be done through support because they wouldn't connect themselves via the app). The new Q11s worked great for about three weeks. Then, about two weeks ago, they started flashing blue, which meant they were "searching for a connection." In the meantime, all my devices were still (kinda) working on wifi and ethernet even with all three Q11s flashing blue. I power cycled everything, and still nothing... flashing blue.
I open my MotoSync app only to find my password (which I had NOT changed) suddenly wouldn't work. The "forgot your password" link in the MotoSync app simply wouldn't work. I removed the app from my phone, deleted the data, restarted my phone... all the things you're supposed to do. Nothing. Setting up a new account wasn't an option because it recognized my email and said I already had an account. So now I couldn't log into my MotoSync account to reset the network, and I watched all three Q11s flashing blue for two weeks. Slowly, my wifi devices began to have intermittent connection issues. But because I couldn't log into my motosync account, I couldn't do anything.
I opened another Motorola support ticket over a week ago, and this time... no response from them. So with my devices slowly losing connection one by one, and the Q11s still flashing blue with no response from Motorola, I unplugged everything.
I would NOT recommend the Motorola Q11 mesh system to anyone... unless you're a masochist and really like unstable, frustrating experiences. One of my worst tech device experiences EVER.
I purchased a new set of Eero 6Pro wifi mesh "pucks." They were twice as expensive, but they set up within 10 minutes, all my devices instantly connected, and my internet speeds have been blazing fast.
