Regardless, shipping was quick, and the product was new in the box which I was a bit worried about since I saw some reviews saying they received returned, opened laptops. But everything was in pristine condition and I was actually quite surprised at the quality of the 730. It's a 15.6" 2-in-1 laptop with comparable internal specs to the Surface Laptop 2 at a 33% discount. The screen is pretty good but doesn't get amazingly bright. The speakers are surprisingly not bad but I'm not much of an audiophile. The battery life is quite underwhelming. Maybe 3-4hrs doing normal tasks at close to max brightness. It didn't come with a stylus, though I was under the impression it did when I purchased it but I don't really mind since I didn't plan on using it for writing much anyway. Trackpad is sufficiently large and feels like smooth glass and the keyboard feels pretty good with a decent amount of travel. I also thought there was USB-C charging but there's not, afaik.
I did have issues setting it up, though. I got my initial startup procedure completed and had a fresh, new install of Windows but whenever I would try to uninstall a program or unpin a tile from the start menu, it would basically undo the deletion. So, I did a recovery install again. Then, the initial startup procedure prompted me for my Microsoft credentials which it had not done before, so I entered them but I ended up with a user folder name I didn't want and there wasn't an easy way to replace it with a local account user folder. So, I did another recovery install. Same thing happened again that happened the first time when I couldn't actually unpin or uninstall programs. Finally, another recovery install and everything worked great. Took about four hours to get there but everything is to my liking and, so far, I'm happy with the product.
Will update if anything takes a turn for the worst.
This laptop has some flaws that I would want prospective buyers to know before getting into buying this product. It could be that just my one has this flaw and others do not but here they are. The screen is pretty flimsy and does not stay put in the way it is angled. If someone angles the laptop less than 90 degrees and moves around with it, you can feel it sway back and forth. If the laptop is angled less than 30 degrees, there is a good chance that it will close by itself because of the weight of the screen. Another flaw is that the mouse pad looses its functionality at times, I find it happen more while programming in Visual Studio. I have to close the whole laptop and log in again for it to work, seems like a application for the mouse pad just crashes and just needs a reboot. My last issue with this laptop is that for some audio that I listen to, the left speaker seems to be vibrating too much on the frame. The audio that comes through the speaker seems to be vibrating the frame so those sound waves are less clear because it is absorbed by the body of the laptop. Other than that, this laptop is suited for me and I felt that returning it and looking for a new one was not worth spending time looking for a new one, especially in this price range.
First off about the laptop, the graphic card gets a 10% on benchmarks, to compare it by a gtx1080, it is 5,000% less powerful, but it does run games like minecraft at 30-60fps, which is cool.
Second, the shipped OS, I didn't use it (Windows 10 Home). There is so much unwanted software, I had to reinstall a Windows 10 Pro with an UEFI bootable usb key. All the drivers are available on the lenovo website, also had to download Intel Turbo boost 2.6 software.
Third point, it seems that the battery has hard times keeping up if you do not try to consume as less energy as possible, it does the 6 hours as indicated.
Aside from these points, everything is awesome. No problems since I'm using it. Auto rotation works well, backlit keyboard is awesome, folding works perfectly the touchscreen works like a tablet, the screen quality is awesome, starts in less than 4 seconds, does tasks easily with turbo boost active, what can I add up ?
