It's FANTASTIC! The BEST... BUT...

It's FANTASTIC! The BEST... BUT...
I'll get the negative out of the way... DO NOT go camping with this tent without first airing it out or you'll be sorry! The smell is so bad that our first two nights we slept in the truck! It was that bad! I get it as there's what's called "Plastisizers" that "De-gas" when it's first opened. So take the gross factory smells, and the cigarette smell from those in their manufacturing and sewing shop, (you know where it's made so don't even ask), and it's beyond words. So bad, I couldn't sleep in it and we, (the dog and myself), slept in the truck. By the third day it was just OK. The other negative was the zippers were glued shut in some areas making it a pain to work open and zip back n' forth to work out the excessive sloppy glue job. That being said, the positive... THIS TENT IS GREAT! Airflow is very controllable because of the two zippered doors that are also screen doors and two big screen windows! Very nice! Then they have accessory holders at the four sides which is real nice! The bottom is a reinforced tub type heavy tarp like plastic which makes the bottom waterproof and because it's tub-like, the floor creeps up the sides a bit making sure nothing is going to seep in. They have a center ceiling hook should you want a center hanging light. Outside are clips all around so it securely fastens to your frame. The shell appears to be waterproof/water repellent too. Before we got out because of the smell on night one, it started to rain. My canopy top allowed rain water to seep on to this inner tent but I just watched the water bead right off the inner tent and we stayed nice and dry. (But then left for the truck because of the smell.) Anyhow, I wasn't paid or this wasn't donated, so you have my honest opinion. It started out a pointless, negative 5 star disaster but made a strong finish of 5 stars. So I don't hesitate making the highest recommendation for it. Hope this helps, -Mike

This is a very smart product, executed well. I already had a tan awning, so I was forced to buy the lighter, less expensive version if I wanted to match colors.

I was surprised (and pleased) by how light and small the tent is when packed. It weighs just a few pounds since it doesn't have poles or stakes included. The base is plenty rugged although we used a tarp underneath as well. This version has two doors and two windows, with shades to zip closed for privacy. There are plenty of toggles and ties inside and a series of pockets to keep things off the ground.

The directions were clear although I made the mistake of not reading them until I had put up the awning. I needed to hook-up the center, peak of the tent to the inside of the awning before I raised the awning's legs, d'uh. You can't reach high enough otherwise.

It slept a family of four with no trouble. We were three wide and one across the bottom although we could easily have gone four wide. There is plenty of extra space for bags and gear.

The only thing I'd change are the ties that attach the corners of the tent to the awning legs. They are simple, sewn strips of tent nylon. I could see after one use that they will not last long as the stitching was pulling out as I untied them. I would use Velcro or more of the plastic hooks they already use to hang the tent around the top of the awning. It is really not much of an issue, just the only thing I noticed that wasn't great all weekend.

Everyone loved it and in hindsight, I don't think I'd want the heavier version. This one is perfect for us in Florida.

I have other “connect” tents that attach to an existing canopy, but I love that the ceiling in this is solid, not mesh like the others. It has a tarp tub floor, so that’s also more sturdy and waterproof. It has a door on all four sides, that can also be zipped part way and used as windows, or unzipped all the way for even more ventilation. It has 2 zipped ventilation ports that lay under the canopy roof for possibly a bit more ventilation.
It’s very easy to attach to your existing easy up canopy. It’s basically a 10x10 straight walled, big square room with a ceiling to attach to your own canopy.
Very roomy, very easy to attach and un-attach to your own canopy.
I cannot attest to the waterproof-ness as I haven’t used it in the rain, but I love having a big tall room to set up as sleeping quarters! Win win

fairly easy to put up.
pleanty of room. Love the tall side walls large door and breezy windows.
My only issue is the zipper...it ALWAYS closes into bottom right. Honestly that sucks. Not easy to find the zip pull to open/close...getting quite wet when it's raining trying to close the zipper completely, as I don't want liitle criiters (chipmunks) to get inside. There is NOT an option to zip upwards/two way zipper to meet in middle near top.

This tent seems like a very nice addition for a straight leg 10x10 canopy. I have a  Leader Accessories Instant Canopy  and it fit perfectly. I decided to do a test run at home before trying to take it out; it took about 15 minutes to set up the canopy and tent by myself and no issues were encountered. Setup was easy enough to understand without any guidance. Clip the top center to the canopy before you raise it, and everything else can be clipped on once the canopy is up.

The tent material seems thin - I am a little concerned about longevity. It's weighs very little, maybe 13 pounds. However, I put it up and down twice without any problems so I won't ding them on the material since it's holding up so far. Next to my 42 pound canopy bag it feels like almost nothing, so it's extremely easy to transport. If you flatten it, fold it, and then roll it, it fits in its carry bag very easily.

The rolled down window flaps tuck away into little pouches; screens keep the bugs out. I've attached some pictures showing the inside with a cot for scale. It can easily sleep a couple of people with tons of room to spare.

Update: I did a field set up in the dark after a bad start to a camping trip and was able to get set up by myself without any issues. It took about 25 minutes from opening the bag on my canopy to having everything clipped in and staked down. It would definitely go faster if I'd had help. The tent handled some of the hardest rain I've seen for 10 minutes straight without a drop of water getting inside. When not raining, I kept the windows open just a bit while sleeping to keep it from getting muggy inside since the tent can keep moisture in just as easily as keeping it out.

Because the tent material is so thin, I found that it ground straps could start to rip away when staking the tent to the ground if the material was already pulled tight. A lot of care must be taken with this tent not to pull anything too tight or it will definitely start coming apart - the tent is relatively fragile in that regard. However, with this understanding in mind I'm still pretty happy with it overall. It's exactly what I wanted.
