Does Nordic Naturals use independent labs for testing their products?
Yes. We use ISO-accredited (or similar) third-party laboratories to independently verify our ingredients on all important measures of safety and quality, including freshness, purity, stability, potency, and the accuracy of dosage claims.
Will I get fishy burps?
Repeat burping or bad taste could mean your supplement may be oxidized. All Nordic Naturals fish oils are protected from exposure to oxygen at every step of production to help deliver an exceptionally fresh taste without fishy burps or aftertaste.
Are there options for me if I have a hard time swallowing pills?
Yes. We offer liquid options for many of our fish oil products, and our fish oil soft gels are chewable for those who have difficulty swallowing pills. Some products are also available in smaller, easier-to-swallow mini soft gels or chewable gummies.
Are allergens present in Nordic Naturals products?
We use FDA-compliant allergen labeling, and disclose any warnings relating to allergen exposure on our product labels. We recommend that consumers discuss product ingredients with a health care professional for any potential allergen concerns.

My 18 years old kitty is healthy save for some arthritis and a slightly shaggy, dandruff laden coat. I purchased this to help his skin and fur, but also because I read that fish oils help with inflammation and pairs well with use of glucosamine supplements. I chose products in liquid form because my boy is super picky and would never eat a soft chew. He doesn't even like the supplements mixed in with his food, but seems more receptive over a chew. Also, I can administer it as needed. And most days that is what I do.
With his arthritis, he hasn't been able to jump up, and he tends to favor a leg. I have made adaptations (moving litter boxes, having more sleeping areas lower to ground, or easier to get to, bought some pet stairs and ramps for easier access, etc). The vet said to try a couple of supplements (specifically glucosamine/condroitin and a fish oil) rather than going on a prescription. So that is what brought me here to look for something for him. He has been on this for 2-3 weeks now. I would say it was within a few days I noticed that he was coming out and about more. He likely wont be returning to jumping up on stuff (but who knows!) but he has has a smoother gait as he walks. He had been hanging out in one room, but now he seems to feel well enough to come out into a couple more rooms. I have areas set up with pet stairs so he can at least get up onto some low climbers and sleep (and hang out with his family!!). There is no shortage of options for him, and I am glad he is making use of the few easier ones I have for him.
He looks more perky, and there is a little more sheen to his coat. This is the other item I am using along side with it.

You can take advantage of overnight shipping when temps are cooler to avoid the oil being subjected to any extreme heat in transit. The bottle I received in 10/2022 has an expiration date of 4/2025 if left unopened. After you open the bottle, you must keep it refrigerated and use it within 90 days.
When you open the bottle there is not even a hint of fishy smell. Just smells like oil. Can be given with your dog’s food or by itself. The 8 oz. bottle and the 16 oz. bottle contain the same formulation, that is, 1 teaspoon (5ml) = 736 mg EPA/ 506 mg DHA. The 8 oz. bottle gives feeding directions for medium to large dogs weighing between 20 lbs.-79 lbs. the 16 oz. bottle gives feeding directions for 79 lbs.-111+. If you have a larger dog but don’t want to buy the 16 oz bottle in case your dog won’t eat it, take a screen shot of the ‘Suggested daily use for dogs 20-100+ lbs.’ on the webpage so you’ll know what to feed your giant breed and buy the 8 oz. bottle instead.
You won’t have to deal with messy unreliable pumps but pouring from a large bottle can be imprecise. Accidentally over-pouring and giving your dog too much oil can lead to GI disturbances, flatulence, diarrhea. If you have a small breed, dispensing from an amber glass eye dropper bottle might be an option. Our 100+ lb. Rottweiler will need 2 teaspoons (10 ml) per day. An eyedropper would be too tedious. We opted for a small 5.75 oz. ‘2 Pack Oil/Vinegar Cruet Glass Olive Oil Dispenser Bottle’ (sold on Amazon) with a drip proof spout. A small amount of fish oil can be poured into it from the larger bottle for daily use. The larger bottle stays in the fridge, is opened less frequently to prevent exposure to air/light/oxidation. The small, daily- use cruet, also refrigerated, is not UV protected but exposed to little light-only when the refrigerator door is opened. The spout makes it easy to control the pour onto a teaspoon and stir into his food. We got a 2-pack so that at the end of 90 days we can wash one cruet and air dry while starting fresh with a clean dry one.
Does it work? Don’t know yet. We’re introducing using the same process as if we were changing his food-a little at a time and monitoring for GI disturbances. And after we work him up to full dosage, it will take about 6 weeks to see any effect. So, TBD…

but the packaging could be better as it is crossing a quite large distance to come over here in India from USA and the shipping time is longer so it is better to have this one place an order 1 month prior want to use.it is my wish if possible reduce the price,so many poor fellows like my boy can be saved as most of the omega oil 3 brand especially for pets are worse in quality, they actually make the oil from frozen-farmed fish which r high in chemicals and actually can gives a pup kidney, liver diseases.

I put on top of their kibble once per day and they have no issues eating. No smell/bad breath. I just find it’s fairly expensive.
