About this item
- 【Specification】Size: L 7.87 x W 1.96 x H 0.78 in (200 x 50 x 20 mm) | Length of Blades: 0.98 in (25 mm) | Weight: 6.7 oz (190 g) | Material: S55C Carbon steel | Black Coated | Suitable Cutting Capacity: 5/16" to 1/2" (8mm to 13mm) | Blade Shape: Concave
- 【Made in Japan by local blacksmith artisans】Real Japanese bonsai tools handforged by blacksmith artisans specialized in bonsai tools from the city of Sanjo, in Niigata Prefecture. Sanjo is known since 17th century for the metalwork skills of their artisans and blacksmiths.
- 【Little Scarring in Branches Up to 13mm】Essential bonsai tool for branches ranging from 5/16" to 1/2" (8mm to 13mm). Ideal for pruning and removing both living and dead bonsai branches. Because of the structure of the cutting edge (concave shaped jaw), they leave an elongated cut that fills over itself quickly leaving minimal or no scars. Blade stopper only works for aesthetic purposes (no real function)
- 【Hand Forged Tool】The carbon steel is beat and shaped by hand to make it even stronger using the same artisan methods used for many centuries by blacksmiths to forge Japanese samurai swords. The edge blade is honed to the utmost precision, enabling it to effortlessly cut through overgrown branches.
- 【Gift Box Packaging】The cutter is presented in an elegant and minimalistic all-black gift box featuring a golden embossed logo. It is also an excellent gift idea for someone who loves bonsai and gardening.

The only negative with these cutters is that they are not stainless steel. I knew that when buying them, and I'm OK with it because I'm a neat freak when it comes to all my tools anyway. If you get these cutters wet and don't dry them soon after, the uncoated steel surfaces WILL develop rust. After every use, I rinse them under running water, wipe with a dry cloth, then spritz with a little WD-40. If you do get some surface rust, just buff it out with 220 grit sandpaper and you're good to go.
These cutters are well worth the money, and I know they will last me for decades to come. Wazakura has definitely earned a customer here, and I plan to buy some of their other bonsai tools soon.
