It holds the drive nice and snug and comes with some thermal adhesive as well. Overall really happy with it. Keep in mind these drives produce a lot of heat when working them hard so this case is designed to help dissipate that heat so the drive can perform expect it to be warm if you’re doing something that makes the drive work hard.

Bought two of these, both of them were missing the thermal pad and screw or tab to secure the memory to the board. This seems to happen frequently as you can see from other reviews, so factor in the additional cost if you don't have an extra thermal pad and screw lying around. Speeds were good so can't complain about that but annoying that there's no QC for missing parts.

Edit: Literally 10 seconds after submitting my review I noticed there was something in the packaging, you have to take of a piece of the packaging to find everything. Still leaving a star off because the packaging sucks and others have made this mistake too. They should either put all of the items on the bottom or none of them.

Looks Great But Does Not Actually Work

The enclosure itself looks great, feels solid, is a little larger than others which I thought would help with the heat. Unlike what another reviewer said, it does have a screw to hold the SSD in place. And that is where the good stops. The cable provided is horrible. The USB-A end pops off to a USB-C, but there is a piece of plastic that holds the USB-A adapter on...and also prevents you from plugging the USB-C end in all the way. I used another certified TB4 cable... The SSD I used was an OWC Aura Ultra IV (rated at like 7200MB/s) on a MacBook Pro with TB4. I was replacing a Sabrent TB3 enclosure, hoping to take advantage of the TB4 performance. That didnt happen. When it actually worked, this enclosure struggled to maintain half the speed of the older TB3 enclosure. Even worse, I was never able to get it to stay connected for more than about 3 minutes. I would start a transfer and if would just disconnect. I put the SSD back in the older Sabrent, and it was rock solid. I have returned this enclosure - too many issues to bother trying to troubleshoot.

Best NVME/SATA enclosure on the market right now

The ABS enclosure and aluminium heatsink both are well made and solid. Really appreciate the included pad and the surprisingly good USB Type-C and USB A cables included with the enclosure. The RTL9210B is the expected chip to be on this kind of product, especially in this price range, that all in all performs great with my SATA M.2 SSD. But there is no good without bad, The PCB of this adapter isn't mounted to anything in the case. Which isn't as bad as the rubber fitting used to mount the M.2 which gave me a hard time mounting my drive to the internal M.2 connector. Something that I also noticed is that USB C to USB C connections somehow don't work on my particular AMD powered PC. While working flawlessly on my Intel Laptop.

In conclusion, I would definitely recommend this enclosure, especially because of its actually usable and effective cooling heatsink, which compared to alternatives on the market makes it's current price of 22$ a steal.

Funktioniert super, leicht zu installieren:
Einfach den Deckel aufschieben, die Hülle abziehen und M.2 Speicherkarte einsetzen.
Es werden zum Sichern 2 Gummi-"Schrauben" mitgeliefert und ein Kühlkörper incl. Silikonstreifen zum Befestigen / zur Wärmeableitung ist auch dabei, falls man nicht gleich einen M.2 Speicher mit Kühlkörper kauft.
Das ganze wird dann über das mitgelieferte USB-C zu USB-C Kabel angeschlossen, oder man besorgt sich ein USB zu USB-C Kabel, über welches man als Besitzer einer PS5 oder eines neueren Smartphones ohnehin verfügen dürfte.

Ich habe das Gehäuse genutzt, um Daten von meinen alten Laptop auf die Speichererweiterung für meinen neuen zu ziehen.
Leider konnte ich das mitgelieferte Kabel dafür nicht nutzen, da der alte Lappi noch keinen USB-C Port hatte und mangels USB 3.0 hat das Kopieren auch ewig gebraucht.
Selbst nach 24h Dauerbetrieb wurde das Gerät nur leicht warm, hat keinesfalls überhitzt.

Bei der PS5 habe ich es zuvor mit einer 6500MB/sek-M.2 als erweiterten Speicher genutzt und übers mitgelieferte USB-C Kabel ca. 5h für 1,9 TB an Daten gebraucht.

Installation der SSD teils sehr kompliziert, kleiner Schraubendreher beigelegt, die SSD mit dem kleinen Gummistück auf der Platine zu befestigen hat mich jedoch eine lange Zeit gekostet, dabei auch die Angst durch das drücken die Platine zu brechen. Nachdem dies jedoch erledigt ist, keine weiteren Probleme. Wärmeleitpad drauf Deckel drauf und zuschrauben. 1-2 weitere Wärmeleitpads wären super beizulegen, im Lieferumfang nur eines vorhanden.
