Lauren's Barbarian: A SciFi Alien Romance: Icehome Series, Book 1 Audible Audiobook – Unabridged

4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars 6,292 ratings

A lush, tropical island on an icy planet makes no sense.

Then again, not much makes sense anymore after waking up and finding myself not in bed but on a strange world populated by aliens. Since that moment, I've learned that nothing is normal anymore and I've got to roll with the punches. I can handle this, though. I'm strong and capable.

So...washed up on a tropical island? Got it handled.

Separated from the others in my group? Handled.

Stranded alone with a brutal but delicious alien man that can't speak English but has great...ahem...body language? Yup, handled.

Add in the fact that my cootie - a symbiont I need to survive - has chosen my big, hulking alien friend as my fated mate? Let's just say that the situation isn't the only thing that's going to be handled.

But it isn't long before I learn that the tropical island paradise is a death trap and we're all in grave danger, aliens, and humans alike. To survive this, I'll need my tempting guy to give me a hand with the situation...good thing he's got four of them.

Contains mature themes.

Lo and K'thar wow. Lo is smart and strong and deserved a good man like K'thar. And K'thar needed much happiness after such sorrow. Thank you for a lovely story

Lauren’s Barbarian is book one in the Icehome series by Ruby Dixon.

This series needs to be read in order. It’s also a spin-off of her Ice Planet Barbarian’s Series. You can start the Icehome series without reading Ice Plant Barbarian’s, but I recommend starting with Ice Planet Barbarian’s.

The original tribe from Ice Planet Barbarian’s do come back to play a roll though we do move onto all the new humans and aliens that have found themselves stuck on this ice planet. We finally get to see the island across the water that’s been mentioned.

I love returning to this wold and I liked that we fell back on the language issues of not understanding each other and having to find a way to communicate and work together. This brought back memories of when I first started reading Dixon and her Alien Barbarian’s.

We meet new tribes of the Sakh people with unique physical features. The tribes are separated by these features and don’t co-mingle except around a certain time of year. It was fun learning about these new aliens and seeing the Island.

The romance is wonderful. We do have resonance, but since they can’t understand each other it takes a little time.

Dixon packs a lot in this novel and it was a lot of fun. I can’t wait to read on in the Icehome series. I just love coming back to this planet and it’s sexy alines. If your looking for Sci-Fi Romance than I highly recommend Ruby Dixon.

This is the start of a new spin-off series, and while it could probably be read as a stand-alone, I recommend that this be read in order of publication with the Ice Planet Barbarians.

The reasons are numerous, and include, multiple reoccurring characters, overlapping / consecutive timelines and overarching storyline themes, such as kidnapping / abduction, human trafficking, etc.

This introduces a few different races of the sa-khui, aka the sakh, through the fortunate discovery of the island (Sophie wasn’t seeing things when she thought she seen something green on the horizon of the ocean).

It came just in time to save our two newly awakened females that got accidentally left on the spaceship as the tribe deployed it into the ocean to destroy it. That way it could never be used to track any more slavers to their world. Everyone believes this planet is uninhabitable and they want it left that way.

When Lauren and Marisol survive and arrive on the sands of the islands there are two hunters from separate tribes. They have decided to split the contents of the “egg” when it arrived rather than fight, smarter for both of them since so many had died when the island exploded a few months ago.

K’thrn was immediately drawn to Lauren (Llo) and so he brought her back with him. Food would have been nice, but his female was worth so much more. Since part of the island exploded there was only 1 kit and 3 males left, the other 2 tribes were in about the same situation, and all tribes are at risk of dying out now.

Then he was given his female, his resonance proves it, and there seems to be hope again … now if we could just understand each other and he could figure out why she was so alarmed

Icehome, a spin-off series from IPB, and it’s…interesting.

When I first stepped foot in the IPB world I thought it was quick, fun smut… and it’s turned out to be so much more. I look forward to reading and catching up with this new series.

The original and now the spinoff just have the sauce. If you’ve ever watched Avatar and thought “wow, they’re hot” this is for you.

I was a little concerned that this book will not include ice Planet barbarians but it is so moving together I think you should read the other series understand this one this is really great I love the fact that all these girls were in stasis so they don't have no trauma of slavery which is great and I love the island because they mention it in books before and it's great that it came over in boats it just so good and I'm surprised I like the 4 arms I was a little nervous I still can't picture to my head but I'll get used to it

I loved this fresh start to a new series on my beloved ice planet. I consumed this book at mach speed and I’m excited to continue to learn about the new clans. My only hope is we continue to get more of K’thar and Lauren as the series continues as I feel we only got a hint of their blossoming relationship. On to book 2!!

I read the Ice Planet Barbarians a couple of years ago...and I loved it so, so much. I did not start the Icehome series because I knew I would love it and I wanted to save it for later. I was not wrong.

I loved Lauren's story and I am already hooked into this series. Loved the island escape vibes in this book and this tied up a lot of unanswered questions in IPB. Can't wait to read the next one.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poco interessante

5.0 out of 5 stars Lauren and K'thar
Reviewed in Germany on November 24, 2019
Lauren was abducted from earth by slavering Aliens and stranded together with fifteen other girls on the ice planet. They got help from horned, big, blue Aliens, called the Sa-Khui and their human mates, who where stranded there years earlier. When Lauren is on the spaceship with Marisol, there starts a fire accidentally and the ship goes to the open sea, from where they drift to a tropical island. The two girls are found by two islanders. One of them is K'thar and he immediately resonates to Lauren. Lauren soon falls in love with K'thar, but the island isn't safe.
Ms. Dixon did a wonderful job writing this book. There is breathtaking adventure, fascinating landscapes, lots of love and sex and impressive males. It has everything to make a story with high suspension, a real page turner. I highly recommend this book.
