Fabric Type Mattress Pad: Pvc Vinyl Fabric Ideal for Water and Optimum Sleeping Comfort.
Special Feature Cooling

About this item

  • Cooler sleeping temperature: Water circulates through the cooling pad, 27” x 63” x 1/16”, keeping you from overheating while you sleep
  • Control temp: Feel 6-12 degrees cooler than your room. Set the fan to high F1 and continuous cycle D1, it'll feel like an ice pack! D2, D3, or D4 cycles provide less intense cooling
  • Easy maintenance: The Mattress Cooler requires you to add about 1 quart of water a day, and drain the water tank every 14 days. The Mattress pad should be replaced about 4-6 months
  • Helps your body recover: cooler sleeping assists the natural healing processes; helping with hot flashes, night sweats, menopause, back and body pains, and other sleep ailments
  • Low white noise: The fan produces a low hum. At it's highest setting F1, it produces 40 decibels of sound, which is equivalent to a very quiet whisper you might hear in a library

Product Description

Are you ready for something better than a cooling blanket or a cooling comforter for night sweats? Our bed cooling system will regulate your body temperature and provide you with a better night's sleep. A cooler bed helps you fall asleep faster, decreases insomnia, releases melatonin, and decreases the risk for metabolic elements.

How it works:

Chilled water circulates through a PVC vinyl mattress cooling pad. The chilled pad removes body heat, cooling you to a desired sleeping temp. After the water has absorbed your body heat, it's returned to the Mattress Cooler and recirculated.

Setup:

5-10 mins

1) Place cooling pad between mattress and a fitted sheet. To cool yourself, place the pad from head to foot. For two people, place across the mattress between your neck and waist. Avoid placement near sharp objects or high friction areas where you get in/out of bed.

2) Connect cooling pad tubes to the cooler. Remove the top lid so you can pour up to 2 quarts of water into the Mattress Cooler. The water tank has a water level to prevent overfilling the unit.

3) Press "on". If you get an E1 error, turn off the cooler, add water, then power on.

Cleaning/Maintenance:

The system will use about 1 qt of water a night. To preserve your cooler, drain the system every 2 weeks. To drain, remove the drain plug under the unit. You can add up to 1/8 tsp of bleach to the water to keep tubes clean. Don't overuse bleach; it can damage the system.

Tips:

Place cooler higher than the mattress pad for better circulation. If you are having issues with the water overflowing, first try running it with less water in the tank. If you're still having the issue after, change the fan cycle to D4 when you wake up; it will prevent backflow.

Cooling pads should be replaced every 4-6 months, friction will develop weak spots. A replacement pad is included and additional pads are available on Amazon

Important information

Legal Disclaimer

This product circulates water through a PVC vinyl cooling pad on your mattress to regulate body temperature. As with any product in this niche that uses water for cooling, leaks are possible so you should only use this product in locations where the risk of a leak is acceptable. Risk can be minimized by using a mattress protector placing the cooler in a shallow tray or dish, and taking extra care when the cooler is located lower than the cooling pad. The PVC vinyl mattress pad will wear over time and will typically last 4-6 months. We recommend checking the mattress pad for moisture on a regular basis.

Magic solution for hot flashes!

Magic solution for hot flashes!
I bought this in a desperate search to get a good nights sleep without waking every 30-40 minutes from menopausal hot flashes. My initial thought when I unrolled the pad was “how am I supposed to sleep on a hard piece of plastic???”. It turns out it’s not as hard once you’re on it and it’s circulating water. It did take me a few nights to figure out which settings to use as I was actually quite cold the first night (albeit with no hot flashes!!!). I have settled on fan speed of F4 (the lowest speed) and fan cycles between D3 (3 minutes of fan on and 12 minutes off) and D4 (no fan, just circulating water). If your house is already cool (we keep thermostat at 69 and sleep with overhead fan on) using D4 can work because the water will warm in the pad from your body temp but cool a bit as it circulates through the pump. I find my D3/F4 seems to work the best with a heavier blanket over me so I don’t get too cold (weird, right?- but it works to keep the hot flashes away!). FYI- The D2 setting is fan cycling on 6 minutes off 6 minutes (I found this too cold) and D1 is fan on all the time (brrrrr!!!!). A couple of things I do: I DO add 1/8 tsp of bleach with each fill. My room tends to smell like a combo swimming pool and a slight mildewy smell (that I’ve completely gotten used to). I’ve not seen any mold or mildew in system though. I drain the unit and pad every time I wash sheets. The strap to hold pad in place is quite loose (I guess it has to be to fit bigger mattresses?- I have a queen and use it only on my side of bed). I simply tied a knot in the strap and that seemed to help.I have a waterproof pad UNDER the water pad because, as the disclaimer says, eventually it will wear and develop thin areas and potentially leak. So far so good and I’ve been using it for about 8 months now! I also have a “gel cooling pad” (that I purchased from the company that we got our mattress from BEFORE I fought this cooling system, but it didn’t work for my hot flashes) over the top of the water pad for extra padding (because…plastic). I think it helps keep it a bit softer… Initially I was so worried that I would overspill the unit, but the water indicator really helps with filling, though I use a small pen light when fill because I find it a bit hard to see. As others have mentioned, the remote is basically useless. It works about 10% of the time, so I don’t even try anymore because it frustrates me and then I’m awake. The only drawback for me (but not enough of one that I won’t use this amazing pad) is that I DO tend to get a bit of joint pain on whichever side is down against the mattress. It abates as soon as I roll over and the joint warms up, but I thought I’d mention it because it quite took me by surprise (though I guess it makes sense…). It doesn’t last so is not enough of a nuisance to stop using the system. Ultimately, this is a nice compromise for my husband (who sleeps colder) and I.
