Dec 2019 - I have had this cooler for quite awhile now and I will say the biggest reason I gave this cooler 5 stars was because of the amazing and affordable price I purchased it at, which I believe at the time was about $165.00 or so. Now I return to find it at the exact same price as the Yeti. This is an outstanding cooler and has performed well so far. I did have to replace the O-rings around the plug due to leakage at couple times, but I consider that just standard maintenance. The bear resistant advertisement seems new as well and I can confidently say a brown or even a black bear would rip the lid open like a fat kid goin at a bag of Skittles. No way are those rubber toggles keeping a bear out. Saying this cooler is bear resistant is the equivalent of saying a cereal box is child resistant because the kid has to open it. Overall...I would say since RTIC has upped the price you are better off going with a Yeti. Yeti has been around longer, has worked out a great deal of their kinks and hiccups as far as manufacturing and production goes, and has pretty solid customer support from what I have heard. RTIC's biggest appeal, its affordable price, has apparently gone away.
The big question is how does it hold ice? The answer is great. The 45 has had ice in it going on day 4 now. Not sure if the 20 will go as long, but mine has done very well even while being constantly opened and closed.
I was torn between the 45 and the 65. After carrying the 45 filled with ice, I'm glad I didn't go bigger!
Attached pic is from today, after a few days, in and out grabbing water, adding new water, and sitting in the back of my truck.
Update: I've had both the 20 and 45 for about two months now and have used them both quite a bit traveling and during hunting season. Five observations so far:
1. The 20 doesn't hold ice as long as the larger 45. Kind of expected though, and it still holds ice worlds longer than the Igloo cube it replaced. The Igloo didn't last a day and I get 3, maybe 4 days out of the 20. I'm happy with that.
2. The lid doesn't always want to stay open. Somewhat annoying at first but I've gotten used to it.
3. I haven't had the issue, but have seen complaints about condensation around the drain plug. The drain plug is not insulated, and a quick fix is shoving a wine cork into there. It fits perfectly and effectively insulates the drain plug.
4. The 45 is a great performer. I'm constantly impressed with ice retention. Loaded, it is quite heavy to carry solo.
5. What I'm not impressed with is what they did with their warranty. They changed overnight without notice from 7 years to 30 days. I really like the product, but probably wouldn't have bought knowing that. The two I have so far give every appearance that I won't have any issues, but I'm a little wary now.

The cooler arrived quickly. It was well finished on all six sides and smooth and shiny on the inside. There were no signs of imperfection, no extra insulation around the feet. There were no imperfections or bubbles from the molding process. The production was good, with no scarring from any finish work or buffing. The cooler was clean. The seal was well fitted and connected. The lid stays up by itself. The drain plug hole was finished well. I stood on top of it, bounced a few times (my 190 pounds), and it was sturdy. Tried the lid up and down and could feel the seal causing extra effort to lift the lid initially. Now I have a cooler that could be a seat, step, stool, or casting platform instead of just a cooler (limited space on a boat). The drain plug has a foam pad on the inside.
Update - Ice lasted 10 days. No condensation around drain plug. Temperatures outside 60 to 78 degrees. Lid seal works well, a little effort to open. I love it. I bought the basket and divider from RTIC. Both fit well. The divider will work as a bait board and cutting board. Ready for fishing season.
