I ordered the Black and Silver version (More like black and a little gray). Different colors may have different results. Not only is there a color difference, most of is different, but they operate the same way.

Fresh out of the box, I examined it for any imperfections in order to write a full and complete review. Right out of the box, I lubricated it using
CRC 05074 Heavy Duty Silicone Multi-Use Lubricant - 7.5 Wt Oz. . I started jumping on normal ground, no grass, no dirt. In only 1 hour of jumping, paint started to chip off the nails/bolts/screws, the foam started to rip near the foot area (My foot makes tight contact with the foam at the bottom when I jump without hands.)

I feel like this pogo stick was made for people shorter than 5'. I'm a couple inches taller, and I don't fell completely comfortable. The paper/instructions says that the spring needs some softening and breking in, but it felt pretty good. I'm not sure how high this can go, but it does depend on weight; I'm pretty satisfied with the weight.

Other/Most reviews say that the tips fall off in a week/month/whatever and it's no longer usable. For a little over $5, tips can be replaced via a form included. Other parts can also be replaced. For my 1 hour, the tip was perfect, but that could change later.

I take care of this very well, I lubricate it constantly, always wipe of dust, dirt, and I super glue all foam ripping off.

FIRST IMPRESSION SUMMARY:

Good:
Nice look/pattern (Black and Silver)
Good air
Good grip on foot pads (but 50% grip depends on your shoe)
Durable tip (1 week constant jumping)
Comfortable foam handles

Bad:
Paint chips on screws
Foam slightly ripping
A little small (I'm 5' 3")
Collects dust on the bottom
Foam Handles are glued. (Looks cheap, looks like its going to peel)
When wearing shorts, the foam causes too much friction against the legs when not using hands. Burns.
Lightning patter cracking and peeling.

-----------------------------------

UPDATE:

So far, its been about two weeks, the pogo stick still matches up with the review above. I inspect, clean, and lubricate my pogo stick constantly.

Another Update:

4/1/13 - This pogo stick is still alive, I still lubricate it, and it's fine. No problems.

7/20/13 - Regular use, no problems with the function. I'm sure the spring softened up a bit. Regular scratches, foam torn, but that rubber tip is still very strong.

After reading some of the reviews, I may be a bit premature in writing one of my own. Today was the first day my grandson had the opportunity to visit and try out his new pogo stick. I am puzzled by those who commented on the weight range. My grandson is 8 years old and very thin- around 62 lbs. Since he had never been on a pogo stick before, he had a bit of a problem getting the hang of it. I told him a solid start and keep the body straight. Within 1/2 hr. he had 75 consecutive jumps. He was even able to jump off and back onto the curb. He even jumped down the block! He would not put it down. He absolutely LOVES it. My only concern is whether I can purchase extra rubber tips as this seems to be a common complaint among reviewers. I looked at the tip when Riley was finally exhausted and it already seemed to show signs of wearing down. I reminded him to avoid leaning forward as this may result in falling and injuring his vital parts. Too far back and he could fall backwards. However, it didn't take him long to know exactly what to do. If he felt himself tipping too far forward or too far backward, he hopped off. But if wasn't long before he learned to correct this while still jumping. So far, I would definitely recommend this. Although the weight restrictions indicate 80-160 lbs. He is only 62 lbs. and had no problem getting great jumps and even "catching air." The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because of the issue of the rubber tip wearing down so quickly.

I purchased the black/yellow version of this pogo stick for my son back in September 2010 and it is hard to believe it was that long ago. He used to pogo with this every day, anymore it is once or twice a week. This is his 2nd pogo stick as he wore out the first one we bought him when he was younger. He got so big it began to bottom out. He is 10 now but he is a really big kid. The Flybar Foam Master is much stiffer and it took him some practice to get this one going. It wasn't long before he had such control and could bounce so long that he pogos his way around our condo complex with ease. It takes a few bounces to get it going so it takes more skill and he got the hang of it after a few days. Every so often I put some silicone spray on the shaft and springs. The thing has held up great and the only wear is the foam handle grips are tearing a bit. I plan to wrap them with silicone rescue tape and the problem will be solved.

I'm 6'2" and weigh a few more pounds than my son. I tried this pogo a few times and I'm really not that good. It isn't the pogo stick, it is me. I just haven't logged the practice time. The last pogo I used as a kid was your basic old style pogo like the first one we bought my son. My son weighs less than me but he has NO problem controlling this thing and can pogo precisely where he wants. I read the reviews about this being too stiff, hogwash. If my son can do it then it is just a matter of practice, sticking with it and learning to keep your balance those first few stiff bounces until you get the springs working. It is sad so many people expect instant results and aren't willing to log some hours of practice before they toss something in the "too hard" pile.

This is our second pogo stick. My 9 year old son quickly outgrew his first one and has become quite the pogo stick expert, if there is such a thing. He needed one that wouldn't bottom out. This one is great and doesn't look like he could ever break it. He loves how high it flies and it has a good feel when you bounce. The design is minimalistic - it has no style, no color. It looks like it was created in someone's machine shop. My complaint is that there is a bracket on each side where the top of the spring is attached. These brackets stick out just enough to catch your legs as your jumping. My son has come in with raw marks on his legs through his jeans. I thought it may just be his size and maybe it'll improve as he gets taller, but it happens with me, too. We are experimenting with putting some rubber over the screws to see if that helps. We are disappointed as otherwise this seemed like a great stick.

3.0 out of 5 stars Too tough for kids, even at heavier weight
Reviewed in Canada on March 1, 2017
I should have bought the lighter version. This is too stiff for kids and even for an adult this isn't easy to use. Maybe this needs to be broken in but my kids 9 and 12 struggle too much with this and my oldest is 110 pounds. They have given up. The lighter versions say only good up to 80 pounds so I went with this version. Wear shoes as this will kill your feet without them since it's so stiff. I tried it without shoes and I weigh 200 and I won't do that again.

Seems to be good quality, bought for my 7 year old son, didn’t realize it had a minimum weight so he had a tough time getting it moving, it’s very stiff at first, I took a few turns on it to help him out and he can manage it now💕

My 11 year old son enjoys using it - however it does need to be lubed often and one of the foam handles has started to deteriorate. Will just use hockey tape to fix but was surprised how quick that happened (after only one month of using)
