This is my first reading of Paddington .
I am an adult. I was inspired to read this book because clearly the late Queen Elizabeth II liked him. After all, she had tea with him.
And I have great admiration and respect for her.

In terms of content, the Paddington bear series is excellent for children. The book is mostly text with a few illustrations, and I've found that my son enjoys having it read to him. These stories are classics for a reason: they are descriptive enough that a young pre-reading child can visualize in their head and enjoy the content.

My only knock on this particular edition is that the paper it is printed on is cheap and not very durable. For the price, you can't really expect great stock paper, but it would have been nice if they had printed it on something a little more durable.

I bought for a trip to London to get picture by statue of Paddington setting on a bench eating a sandwich in the park while I pretended to read to him

A Bear Called Paddington is a book not so well known in the U.S. as in the U.K. which is a shame since it is so much fun. The language is wonderful and I do not recommend this book for ages below five as most children will not understand a lot of what is going on. There are other Paddington picture books more suited to the younger child. That said, there is a lot of great vocabulary in this book for kids to learn as you read. My six year old absolutely loved this particular Paddington book and he laughed a great deal. We read one or two chapters a night and I do believe he would have loved to read the whole thing in one go. Paddington is a very lovable bear and Bond's characterization of him is fabulous. We plan to read Paddington Here and Now next and I hope it is as well written.

When Mr and Ms Brown invited into their home a stowaway bear called Paddington, I don't think they, along with anybody, would have expected this marmalade-lover's adventures to have a great impact into their lives, and ours, nor that he would become, in our world that is, a popular character in children literature and British culture. Now I heard some cynical people around me (Mister and Miss Curry) calling Paddington Bear clumsy, dim-witted and the most stupid creature that the world has ever seen. However I think those cynical people are wrong and should take a note from this young bear's golden heart, decency and good manners.

It is in this book that we get to find Paddington's first adventures around London as he experiences adventures at the theater, in the Underground (or Subway),in a large shop, at the beach and at his new home. It is in this book that we get to see the most recurring characters and locations that occur in the Paddington Bear series like Portobello Market, Mr Gruber and I am very pleased that the Kindle edition hs kept Peggy Fortnum's original ink illustrations, which I am very fond of for their energy and the clear expressions of the characters.

In the end, this book is the first in the long classical series of Paddington Bear, who comes from Darkest Peru and who loves marmalade sandwiches.

I 1st met Paddington in the early 70s while I was in college. From the moment I began reading this book I was enamored with Paddington, the Brown family, Mr Curry, Mr Gruber & the rest of the characters in the series of these books. I eventually bought every book published including "Love from Paddington." I am in the process of col!eating them again as I lost the whole collection, a small Paddington bear & 5' tall bear that my husband bought for me knowing I was such a fan. I loved the illustrations then & still love them now. I have watched every episode of the the TV series & was very happy to see that a new movie about Paddington that came out a few years ago & am looking forward to seeing the 2nd movie when it come on the TV. To say the least that I loved them is an understatement.

5.0 out of 5 stars Vale pelo preço e a história
