Comparing the 28's to the 27's.... These are narrower and shorter, no doubt. I'm glad I followed reviews and went with a size larger (I was already getting a half size larger), and had to swap to the wide width. I'm now in a 12.5 W ?!? I am seeing this trend in many brands of running shoes. I'm not sure why makers are using a narrower/smaller foot model? Due to this, many of us are at the top of the women's size spectrum, with nowhere to go, except a 'manish' version of a running shoe. Please, Asics! You make great shoes! There is a reason the largest sizes sell out so fast! I advise you re-evaluate this trend. We want cool, bright, lady like colored shoes, (in the appropriate size), so we have options too!
The feel of the 28's is lighter, with more cushion along the entire shoe. Strangely, I have always bought the Kayano for its classificiation of neutral/moderate pronation, but this model has no arch. I add my own orthotic to take care of the support, but thought it should be mentioned, as this is different from Kayano's of the past.
Overall, a very comfortable shoe, with lotts of cushion.
