About the authors
Jody Revenson writes extensively about the wizarding world's films. Recent books include "Harry Potter Crafting Wizardry" and "Harry Potter Magical Creatures A Movie Scrapbook." Lest you think she's a one-trick-unicorn, she also co-authored "Power Rangers Ultimate Visual History," "The Art of Game of Thrones," "Fraggle Rock Ultimate Visual History," and "The Nightmare Before Christmas Official Cookbook and Entertaining Guide."
She started her foray into the wizarding world by contributing to the New York Times bestsellers "Harry Potter: Film Wizardry" (penning two updated versions and an App) and "Harry Potter: Page to Screen," and assisted with the Harry Potter Poster Collections "Quintessential Images" and "Definitive Posters." For the "Harry Potter: Page to Screen Limited Edition," she authored "The Paintings of Hogwarts," "The Creature Shop Compendium," "Movie Magic: Practical Props and Exciting Effects," "Environments Envisioned," "Wizard Wear & Muggle Attire," and "Ten Years Later: Life On Set with the Harry Potter Cast and Crew." She also authors books for younger wizards, including the Incredibuilds models series featuring Aragog, Buckbeak, House-Elves, Quidditch, Stag Patronus, Sorting Hat, Hogwarts Crest, and Animal Companions of the Wizarding World.
Jody wrote Insight Editions' "Vault" series: "Harry Potter: The Character Vault," "Harry Potter: The Creature Vault," "Magical Places from the Harry Potter Films," and "Harry Potter: The Artifact Vault." She has also penned books for Insight's Movie Scrapbook series including books about The Dark Arts, Diagon Alley, Hogwarts, Spells and Charms, and Christmas at Hogwarts. Then there's the House Magic Ephemera Book series: "Gryffindor," "Hufflepuff," "Ravenclaw," and "Slytherin."
There's "Harry Potter: A Pop-Up Guide to Hogwarts" and "Diagon Alley: A Pop Up Guide" (both paper-engineered by Matthew Reinhart), "A Hogwarts Christmas Pop-Up," "The Art of Wand Work" for the limited edition "Harry Potter: The Wand Collection," "The Broom Collection," "Exploring Hogwarts," and "Exploring Diagon Alley." Also, "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child: The Journey Behind the Scenes of the Award-Winning Stage Production."
My goodness, if this was an Oscar speech, they'd be playing me off!
For Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: "Swooping Evil: A Movie Scrapbook," "J.K. Rowling's Wizarding World Movie Magic Volume 1," "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald Movie Magic," and Harper Collins' "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: Movie-Making News," a London Times bestseller.
Not surprisingly, she's a Ravenclaw.

They have a wide variety of difficulty levels to appeal to kids and adults, which I appreciate. I will say, however, that the recipes tend to err on the blander side if you follow them to the letter, which personally I don't mind because it invites me to customize the seasoning. (I recommend adding a dash of honey to the butternut squash mash in the mummy tartlets, and be generous with your salt and goat cheese.) Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase and some of the recipes are definitely going into my general rotation.
This was a gift for my daughter who loves Nightmare Before Christmas, and she was very excited about it, so all in all a good buy, but the recipes missing photos were disappointing.
